prd: You are right. However, I think it is about time the Indian military started running joint operations with air force assistance. They can do reconissance or satellite coverate, if we don't have this ability, then start working towards it. Tactical sorties with laser guides small munitions launched from LCAs might also be a good way to go about this. There are so many times when Army and BSF soldiers come under fire from enemy combatants nestled in tactically superior positions. Why not call in air strikes for something like this? Why do we choose to sacrifice the lives of Jawans instead? As it is the soldiers are fighting with one hand tied behind their back; this in turn is causing a lot of stress in the armed forces. Just put an end to this. If our soldiers are attacked, pull out the laser markers and call in the air strikes. This is a tactic the Israelis have employed as well; and that is one of the reason why they are so competent with this technology to begin with.
