Is an American's life more precious than others?
by shanoj s on Apr 17, 2007 11:46 AM

I don't understand all this hype when Americans lose their life. (with all respect to the indian professor who died, the point I am trying to make him here is something different)
Is an American's life more precious than anyone else? Is it more precious than an Indian's, an asian's?
They made a huge hype after the 9/11.
Sure more than 4000 people lost their lives, but when people in other parts of the world die that is not big news.
It is not a big news when 100s die in train accidents in India, in bomb blasts in Iraq and Afganistan, out of starvation in Africa and so on...
But when few Americans or the British die, the world comes to a standstill.

Are we children of a lesser God?
