Madhuri's Comeback
by Govind Raj on Mar 08, 2007 08:57 PM

First of all Rediff should clarify if you people are being paid by Yashraj Films to hype Madhuri's comeback.

Madhuri and Sridevi were mostly STARS and less of ACTORS. Sridevi at least had some great films down south.

I don't deny Madhuri was the flavour during my college days and I have seen 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun?" more than 10 times because of Madhuri. But to brand her as the best ever is an insult to the intelligence of the followers of Indian Cinema.

Madhuri was a performer and star par excellance. But if you are talking about Actors; we have one hundred, not ten actors whose have achieved greater things in Indian Cinema.

Infact I rate a certain Manju Warrier from Malayalam films who retired at the age of 20 or 21 as one of the all time Great Actors in India. She married Dileep and quit films. But in a short span of 3 - 4 years she gave magnificient performances in movies like Kanmadam, Aaraam Thamburan, Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu, Sallapam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu etc. She was as big in Malayalam movies as Mammootty, Mohan Lal and Suresh Gopi when she chose matrimony over movies and money.

Madhuri today is slim agreed. But she looks like Helen of 70s put in the microwave and taken out shrunk. The age is written all over her face. Who are you people trying to fool?

Finally I have nothing against comebacks. But is it necessary to splash motivated articles on Rediff just to boost up Madhuri's comeback?

If she is good enough, she will succeed without your highly partisan promos.
