No matter what, it is imperative to be proud of our country. If you have this basic ingredient, you would yourself be propelled to do something for the country and therefore for fellow citizens. It is extremely easy to blame & point at shortcomings - even the most developed countries have them ! Singapore is regarded as a "police state", US is often accused of being totally immoral in values & self centred in attitude. The difference in in the type of negation.
