India should be allowed to play directly in the finals. I have serious doubt whether they'll reach the finals otherwise. As the number one team, we should go directly into the finals and all the other teams should compete against each other to be the second team in the finals. Come on people, we should understand that people are bound to come up with lame reasons. Just ignore them, that's all.

you are right. At the same time Bindra should be the ICC chief, so that he can get chance to make his own format.
The format for the world cup was known before WC was started and every so called top team knew their strengths & weaknesses before WC. Now if we can not plan for qualification the matches (even if we know passing criterion) then what is use of blaming the system. What was so called BCCI doing that time? Also let us understand that the system was equally applied to other top teams. Other teams can qualify, only India & Pakistan ca not qualify. How do you analyze this? There is some thing wrong with these cricket control boards. Need drastic steps to be taken, if want to improve. 1. Go for performance related compensation package. 2. i think the fact you analized are true and perfect,what i would like to suggest is our captain dravid should be more agressive and he should lead the team from the front when the team is in trouble, as australian,west indian do when they are playing the game. i think he should mature a little and go on for another 2-3years as captain, then he should retire after handing over the mantle to somebody in that period of time, till now i would say he should continue.
It only a lame excuse. The same format is there for all the teams. If Ireland a country that took up the game recently and qualified for the last 8 then we have no excuse. As everybody has been saying again and again it was our pathetic performance and not the format.

I think i dont no why r u favouring Dravid.
No doubt he is good batsman but he is not a captain material at all.
1) He does not look like a captain. No killing instincts and not aggresive at all. 2) Does not have any leadership quality , he has no control over the team. 3) He waits for the things to happen rather making things to happen. 4) Under his leadership team doesnot look like a unit. 5) I never saw fire under his belly which i used to see during Ganguly's captainship. 6) Big shame for whole team but especially Dravid and chappel that they lost to Bangaladesh. This shows their inability to utilise resources. There is no doubt indian team is talented than Bangaldesh. But only due to his poor leadership inida lost. So if india still want to loose more games they should continue Dravid as a captain and can also loose to Bermuda At least in the last world cup india reached finals .
These people start making comments on the format now. whether it was not made known to all the teams? Why is this person speaking now when nothing could be done?
