Arjun: Decent article..but you copped out in the end.
It is simple..RD (and GC) are accountable for this loss. They did not deliver. period. Whatever the reason, circumstances, excuses etc.
The first rule of fixing a failure.. fire those accountable (despite all the ifs and buts)..you have to start with a clean slate. It comes with the territory.
RD & GC meant well..but did not deliver. The world is full of people who mean well.. results matter.
Time for them to go...and as you said for the Indian cricket to start afresh.

What can Rahul Dravid do? he cannot bat for Ganguly Tendulkar, he played his part he tried his best but these seniors have no sence and responsibility they want to hold there places for doing more ad and more money. Give dravid another chance.
India's outing is good lesson to Media, who always pays No.1 importance to cricket than other crutial issues... i reach about 150 crores business pullout due to above outings.... good......
Let us accept our players are bad. Our cricketing history is nothing to boast about (except a few wins here and there). You cannot cook biriyani with tomato soup masala.
Arjun, You said that when Greg Chappel and Rahul Dravid took charge in 2005-06 there were tremendous success. Agreed. But they were at home/sub-continent. Look at results abroad: it is pathetic.
Regarding youngsters given chance: they were given chance, but failed to deliver. In SA India lost the ODI series 5-0! What about that?
I agree that it is high time we look at young players. A change is needed. But to develop world class players, one needs a good coach and an aggressive captain. We certainly don't want a Chappel-Dravid combo once again who would ruin a potential all-rounder like Pathan.
It sometimes pains me to see that the usual Rx is handed out to our team: batting coach, bowling coach, fileding coach. "Fitness" is given a passing mention. Fitness is the ability to do a task. The Australians and the Proteas have upped the levels of "fitness" dramatically in all measureable parameters....strength, power, conditioning and agility. Look at any of their players on the field and then look at ours. You'll see what I mean.
Take look at international players form any field sport(incl. cricket) and compare them to players from the same sport 15 years ago. The physical transformtions are astounding. Do you think our current players look any different from the earlier ones? Have we evolved?
We need to have not just a fitness coach, we need fitness standards. Measureable standards in all the earlier mentioned parameters (strength, power, conditioning, agility)...and then some. That's not going to be possible in our politicised "let's try to please everyone" environment. I have a very strong feeling that MOST (if not NONE) of our current players (read: GODS) would measure up to the rigourous standards applicable in modern sport.
How to develop the standards? Look beyond cricket. There's a huge universe of sports out there. Take what useful and reject the rest. Unfortunately, I don't think this is going to happen...it'll only please the fans and paying public, and who wants to please them anyway!
By lossing from Bangladesh they have shown that india is not consistent on their form that any time they can beat strong team like australia and any time they can lose from a weak team like bangladesh .....
Each member should be fined for his Bad performance...
And the important rule ....
Any crickter playing presently in a team should not be allowed to work in Any ADvertisement.....
this will help them lot to concentrate on cricket rather then on money..
I dont agree with the new players they are not superiors, pick them & the result will be the same, their mental strenth is not hard, these players also coming from the same standerds playing the same Indian flat pitches, if u wants to look a strong team u will have to accept the fact of the ground label, provide them a fast & Bouncy pithes, make them mentaly strong who can handle the crunh situations & extensive pressure and perform well play for the Team with aggresions, make the ground label strong give the tough competition. they will feel easy to high label, and enjoy the challenge on top label.

The same does not apply to India. Most of the players whom forumers are demanding must replace the existing ones have been tried sometime or the other. None of them have had such a resounding success to have any degree of confidence that they will necessarily improve Indian cricket.
