Sachin was good batsman upto 2000. Now he is not fit and mentally very weak, very shaky at the time of start. There is nothing left in Saurav, he was just hang up at crease during the cup. Throw both of them. Indian players are very weak and always break under pressure. We have to take risk and kick out all other senior players like Harbhajan, kumble, agarkar etc
Indian current cricker player should start from begining and should think that they are trying to qualify into the world cup. I think this will work.....

Your Emperor doesnt deserve a place in the team. He along with all senior non performing players should go now. we dont need an Emperor who cant play fast bowling of even Bangladesh

If the throne is given back to the Emperor, the "Emperor's New Clothes" would be played on the field instead of cricket.

if everyone of our concerns is taken the players/coaches/team management will have no place to hide.
It was a great piece and Arjun clearly gave the thoughts with a level headedness which is lacking with our BCCI.
Really, we can not blame the coach alone and sack him as the solution. As Arjun said, it was the same coach with his emphasis on youth and fitness who gave a chain of one day series victories. But then it hurted the interests of senior players. So one failure and with BCCI backing they came back and forced him change his plan.
Are not we the ones who asked for experience when our youngsters failed once, especially in the seaming bouncy tracks of SA, where we have never fared better? Now we had the team and every experts agreed its the best team! So why blame the coach and selectors alone now?
Really, its BCCI who is making Indian cricket a tamasha! Where else you can see a politician (Pawar) or a business tycoon (Dalmya) running a cricket board? What the hell they know about cricket the game and how to groom youngsters? Do these honourary members know about professonalism and accountability, which are the two virtues devoid in politics??
With this how can ever think of matching the Aussies/SAF? No chance. Unless BCCI is made of professionals, we will lose out and win occasionally, with some individual brilliance. But only when we perform consistently as a collective unit, we can match Australia. Already Srilanka and Bangladesh have learned it and fast improving in this increasingly fit and hard game of cricket. But we are still in the midset of the 80s!!
The two main reasons for early exit for WC are 1). Flat wickets in india 2). inablity to takle pressure
India lost its first match because of its inability to play on bouncy and turning wickets and lost agains srilanka due to failure to tackle pressure situation.
So BCCI should order to prepare bouncy and turning wickets at all test and one-day centers across india And appoint some phycologist who can teach players how to handle pressure situation.
If this two things are implemented , we can avoid humiliating defeats like in WI last yr , SAF this winter and early WC exit...
All that has happened is gone now and what is to think is of future...
Now this don%u2019t mean to start thinking of next world cup, instead think of next game and next series and start preparing for it...If there is anyone thinking of cricket for India.. Then I will say that Please start taking each and every game seriously and play each and every tournament as if it%u2019s a world cup and they have to win the game ...Try to win each and every Game (whether it is a small series or big) . Best combination for the team should be 5 Genuine bowlers 1 Genuine wicketkeeper and 5 Genuine Batsman.. Out of this if one or two bowlers can bat its Good and if one or two Batsman can bowl its good, that does mean that bowlers should bat and win matches%u2026 and batsman has to bowl and win marches%u2026if this happens then its bonus for the team%u2026Also each one has to do there job (whether batsman or bowler or wicketkeeper) 100%. Before the start of a game each and every member who is going to play the game should learn about each and every member of opponent team and find there weakness and attack them. or have a Plan ready. If all Plan Fails then should have there basic right, means fielding well and bowling in the right shot. Every member should be 100 % fit or else he should be rested.. Less experimentation and should play with 100% in the field. Bowlers should give less extras.. Fielder should attack the balls while fielding%u2026 Should try to save runs.. Try to give one in place of two..
Cricket is heart and soul of India. Nothing bring people as much together as does cricket. But the way our team has performed out there is simply pathetic. I think it is better that India got out in initial stages itself. Better to say that we had couple of bad days. In th way they were playing, they would have lost even to Ireland. So its better that we got out to avoid such humiliation. Now question arises, what next? What are the steps that is needed to be taken. Let's see the problems - 1) No teeth in bowling attack. 2) Batting lacks urgency of taking singles and is too much inconsistent. 3) Fielding - May be worst fielding side in this world cup.
So problems are in all department. What needs to be done - 1) May be Sreesanth is a bit expensive. But he provides teeth and aggression that is lacking from other bowlers. So select him more often. 2) Sachin, Saurav, Kumble etc. must be told... guys its pretty long period that u have served indian cricket. Your contributions are invaluable. However, now that your performances have dipped you should allow other youngsters to come and make their mark. Their may be other Sachin's and Kumble's out there, but they need to be given adequate chance. So please respectfully retiree, so you be remembered as hero and we are saved from uphill task of dropping or axing you. 3) Greg Chappel may be a good coach, his ideas may be great. But 1 thing is clear, that these ideas are not working with India. These ideas may be perfect for Australians, but each country has different styles and different culture. So he sould be asked to leave. Better to take Indian coach, for fielding you may hire a fielding coach etc. 4) Increases participation of national team player in domestic games. International schedule should be made such that it doesn't interefers much with domestic season. Participation of these players would increase competitiveness of domestic cricket, motivate young players and overall make the domestic players more accustomed to handling pressure and knowing what stuff is required in international level.
These are initial few steps which I feel is necessary. This combined with improved infrastructure, better training facilities etc. shall help to revive cricket, the love of India.
