Well done Team India...

WOW !!! What a team has been selected... with batsmens in the side who have 7 and 11 ODI's under their belt... Why so much of faith in them??? and why have you thrown the talence and experience of some oldies. I am very much surprised with the team. Its imbalanced. Where is our MAN IN CRISIS??? I am really very much disappointed with the omission of Mhd Kaif and also feel sorry for Laxman. How can you forget that to win a World Cup you need experienced players. Why they were not given chance to play against Windies. If you remember last time when India toured WI, Mhd Kaif was among the run getters on that typical WI wickets. He made couple of half centuries. Why to omit a player like him to give space to someone who has just played 7 or 11 ODI's. Dont you think its the height of foolishness? Sehwag's selection in the side when he is not among the run getters for ages and again giving him chance. I have no doubt for the talence in him but then why Selection Panel has taken the risk when they have already given space to Uthappa as a opener with Ganguly. Are you kidding by sending sehwag as a middle order batsmen? and further you are making me laugh by saying he is an alrounder.... last time it was Ganguly who was in the side as an alrounder... Why Karthik is in when you have Dhoni? and if they have decided to take him as a backup for Dhoni then flash back to last WC where Ganguly used his mind to keep the wickets with Dravid to play seven batsmens. So you have Dravid as a backup. He has not become a lion if he is been handed the captainancy. He has to give his talence wherever it is required. Pathan's selection is a wise step he is among the rungetters as well. I am 100% sure that team India will do no good in middle order. and when Middle Order fails then dont blame your bowlers when they dont afford to defend the cheap total which your batsmens put on the board. And yes your batsmen who have the experience of 7 and 11 ODI's. And to define better, these guys havent played against Australia. HAHAHAHAHA...
So I am looking forward to the days when the black paints and tar and shit will be on the houses of you selectors as well... Something miracle can only save India now...
And I repeat that India will do no good in this WC... I throw the challenge. And if i lose it still I am the winner. I wont back Selection Panel for this. They havent put any good use of their Comman Sense. This would be a complete miracle.
All the Worst Team India...
Oh I mean All the best Team India...
My Key Playes : Ganguly, Irfan, Zaheer, Patel and Sir Anil Kumble. Ofcourse I need to back bowlers only as I am very much sure about the performance of the batsmens who are 7 and 11 ODI's old in the side.Dravid will be the big FLOP of the series. Congratulations Mr Chappel as your mission to destroy team India till WC is accompolished.

This was the article posted by me on the eve of selection on 10 Feb 2007. And see the reality in it...

I had posted this on the eve of the selection of the 15 Great Indian Guns... But none of them fired... My expectations were with few players and i named the as key players. Ganguly was among run getters, Zaheer and Patel were absoulutely superb, and my Sir Anil Kumble was not given any chance... Even Pathan wasnt in 11 in any of the three matches. He would have played against Bermuda atleast...
Dravid a big flop, both as a leader and an Individual. Please BCCI change the coach and get our right man "Wright" back. It took him 5 years to build team India... and this Aussie destroyed in couple of years... We miss your Services John...
Its time for an young gun with some sort of experience to lead the side. B'coz if Ganguly is given back what you can say his deserving place (Captain) then again politics will play most of the game in Indian Cricket... My suggestion is to Sack Greg as a Coach, Dravid to step down as a captain. Let some young dude take the charge... I wanna see an Grame Smith in Indian Side... My choice would be Mohammad Kaif... All the best BCCI...

your startling facts make hilarious reading--as per you Greg is the cause of all our losses--so this same logic applies to John Wright--also all wins of Ganguly the great should be credited to john wright unless you want to give him credit for wins against minnows.

India's Ouster From the World Cup
by Rituraj Kumar on Mar 26, 2007 04:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It's easy to find faults now that the Indian team has been ousted from the World Cup. However, we must not forget that cricket is a game of glorius uncertainties. Two bad days in the field cost us the world cup.

We must not forget that our players are world class and they will bring us glory some other time. Dhoni failed twice. Tendulkar was out on a duck in the decisive game against Sri Lanka. So, what should we conclude. They don't deserve to play. That would be too naive a thinking.

Well, some changes are definitely needed. Like, Greg Chappel must be asked to pack his bags. Frankly speaking, we don't need his services at all. Dravid is a class player but he should better concentrate on his batting rather than steering the Indian team.

Tendulkar did the same when he found that his shoulders could not take on the burden of captaincy. The job of captaincy should better be left out for the likes of Gangulis who believe in living by the sword.

Rituraj

Suresh, you should look at the positive side.
Agreed that by wasting deliveries, not running singles and now not being able to hit boundaries either, Mr. Ganguly would be putting pressure on the following batsmen.
But it is this pressure only which will improve the performance of middle order and make them more prolific

Totally new perspective.....
by heaven on Mar 26, 2007 04:41 PM  Permalink

I second people when they say, let bygones be bygones....yes, we were pathetic in the WC and lets be men enough and accept it!!

At the same time, lets take some solid actions. I am not for anyone being dropped or selected based on the whims and fancies of people, media, selectors, BCCI etc; lets get more logical!

How about constituting a good system; firstly need is to organise a quick succession matches or a series. Lets cover the contemporary formats, one dayers/20-20s/three dayers, let this be exhaustive and cover most of our contemporary domestic players. The only condition, ALL HAVE TO PLAY! (no excuse for 'established' players).

This done, at the end of the series (you may even like to invite foreign participation to tweak up the competition) and then purely on merit, select the best 20 guys who will constitute the nuclues of the future team. Lets these matches then continue with the selected players and add new probables to continue this competition/selection.

Let selected players participate in public forums and field questions thrown by the media and the general public. This to strengthen them mentally. Let a pschyo work on them at the same time.

Now you have a team, now let them play a rest of India combination, then start out with one-dayers. Analyse their strengths and weaknesses and them make a final analysis for a future one-day team/test team etc!

What say mates??

Determination lacs not just in cricketers but in all Indians
by vish Pat on Mar 26, 2007 04:40 PM  Permalink

One positive point of Team India coming back is the "setback to sponsorers, betting guys and match fixing bookies". Dravid/Chappel shouldnt be made scape goats, coz alone dravid can not win match for india.

SACHIN didnt watch the ball clearly, he was not fresh thats what I can see in his stroke.
GANGULY played unnecesary stroke at that point when his presence was most important
YUVRAJ unnecessarily ran for a NO-run affair
DHONI didnt even bother to play the ball, when even a non playing guy like me can guess a doosra from MURALI.
HARBHAJAN a spinner on a slow pitch concedes 54/0 (how sick)
So better we construct an enthusiastic team, see lankans how they celebrated every wicket of Indians. at their level ITS MENTAL GAME. STEVE WAUGH won the world cup by MENTAL game, he didnt have enough technique like our stallwarts.
DROP unnecessary people, like SACHIN, SHEVAG, ANIL, AGARKAR who have hogged a spot in Indian team, and give way to some juniors.

Indian Team selection
by partha sarkar on Mar 26, 2007 04:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dravid should be out of team at any cost...He is a test player not a one day player. He is the worst/3rd class/fool captain as of now in indian history. If Dravid gets a chance in a one day team then I feel VVS Laxman must get a chance and he is much more stable player compare with Dravid against 1st ball in anywhere of the world.what i feel same team can perform far far better under any other captain like Ganguly or Yubaraj but don't call tendulkar for captaincy.India team should be like this...
Ganguly(C) -If he is interested else Yubaraj
Sehwag/Gautam Gambir (Uthapa got enough chances)
Dinesh Kartik/VVS Laxman
Tendulkar
Yubaraj(VC)
kaif/raina(Kaif is bit better)
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Sreesanth
V R V Singh
Munaf Patel
Hatbhajan Singh/Ramesh power
Irfan Pathan

Remember that all young stars also got enough number of chances but they couldn't proof themself....so team must be combination of senior and junior player and coach can be anybody except chappel...if above mentioed things happen same team will perform excellent..
Girish.

your very name suggests that support for Ganguly is unrelenting and Dravid has to be blamed. Please do not distort history and records by posting ridiculous messages. Uthappa getting more chances than gambhir!!! are you out of your mind--this shows your regional bias very clearly

Dravid has tried & should be retained. The one who deserves to be kicked out of one day squad are
Sachin(he is a lame duck against incutters & has been bowled in same manner for more than a dozen time in last year or so),Sehwag,Ganguly(for his inability to run singles & fielding),Harbhajan & Dhoni. You have already sacked Kumble & rightly so.

1. Dravid should be retained as the captain.

2. Ganguly's batting is still not convincing even though he scored 2 fifties. He has to score a couple of big innings in convincing fashion to demonstrate that he is in form.

3. Tendulkar should be dropped for 1 or 2 series. It will help him get rid of the 'legend' or 'master' title and ease the pressure on him to make a comeback.
