Kiran More and Greg Chappell have been the two most responsible for screwing up the Indian cricket team. If not for Vengsarkar's timely intervention, the Indian team would have been in worse disarray. Their ganging up against Saurav Dada resulted in unimaginable damage to the team. Now this goon is talking about the biggest mistake being changing the selectors shortly before the WC. Looks like he wanted to sit on his selector 'gaddi' for the rest of his life!
I still think team is good. Few things went wrong against match against Sri lanka;
1) Selection of Robin Uttapa and Harbhajan Singh was wrong. Instead of these two guys we should have taken Irfan Pathan and Anil Kumbale. The team which does practice against likes of Muralidharan can easily score aginst Harbhajan Singh. Ajit Agarakar is always a wayword and I never understood why he is in the team. Usability of Robin Uttappa is only for batting and it has not proved enough on foriign pithes.
2) In cruch matches india should always bat first.
3) We shold always play with 5 bowlers , one of them should be a allrounder.
4) All the experimentation was over the last year was targetted for world cup...Experimentation continued in this crunch match too..WHY ???...why sehwag was not allowed to oprn innings with Ganguly ?.
5) Tendulkar should resign now...he cant play in pressure matches ...thats known fact..
6) Groom good bolwers on domastic matches. Prepare fast pitches

LOL....I FULLY agree!!! :-) Then he was irritating opponent team players...now he irritates his own countrymen.
Captian is as good as his team some players are not supporting captian why u blame captain?? It is individual player to decide to support captain and team or self or group within team batsman's job is to get runs, specially when team is in trouble in crucial match. Dravid relied on sahcin and ganguly both failed when team required their service. can only lead by example. which is what he demonstrated today by being the top scorerdravid as batsman scored runs in crucial matches when team required not only yesterday but in previous years when ganguly was captain. but where was the service of ganguly and sachin in yesterday's match when team is required.. ganguly and sachin dhoni, yuvraj failed yesterday when team required their service for crucial match. But no big guns like ganguly and sachin did not stood up when team required their service.
main culprit is ganguly amd harbajan tendulaakr and dhoni who played big role in defeat against Bangladesh
What about contribtuion of ganguly to team defeat. First match only he played the negative cricket,scored more runs for self to finish 1000 runs in WC and played main role in defeat against banladesh.
On the day of Shri Lanka match there was SMS from Journalist to Ganguly. (TOI report) Whole team is responsible for defeat( if team wins everybody comes to forward to claim the credit) Winning or defeat in matches depends on performance of XI players. Irrespective of captain, coach, pitch, stretagy and conditions. Bangladesh and SL victory against India is best example

This lead to collapse as they did not get time to settle. lanka ganguly watesed more balls than runs he scored. created pressure on batsman on other end by not rotating strike, not taking single, and notincreaseing rund rate. in 44 over he was out by playing silly shot
India Scored 191 in 50 overs
Ganguly Scored 66 runs in 21 overs wasted more balls than runs he scored.,
Yuvraj Scored 47 runs in 10 overs
Rest of team scored 50 in 19 overs
Against burmada he scored 89 in 114 balls wasted 25 balls that is around 4.6 runs per over... compare it to the indian teams average of 8.26 ganguly played a big role in india's defeat against bangladesh and main culprit for sabotage ind team WC campaingnganguly sruvived so in captaincy b'cuz dalmiay his godfather his success is not b'zuc of agression or leadership quality but from the contributions of dravid laxman kumble, sachin and sewag

ex cricketers never criticised ganguly when team lost under his captiancy In WC 2003 sachin performed brilliantly and led team to final but ganguly took the credit.
dravid did a good job but he has no godfather in bcci or political support.. the match against bangladesh and SL was visible that players were not supporting captain though media is unfair to captiancy or batsmanship, stat prove that he is better odi wininng average than any other captain. ganguly had godfather dalmiay and tendulkar has the pawar and vengasarkar

saurav ganguly has given good performance over time.
more selectivl avoided tandulkar. it was tendulkar and dhoni, who got ducks, not ganguly.

Dravid is EXCEPTIONAL. Ganguly wudn't have won many as a captain had it not been for Dravid's superfluous, incredible consistency. Dravid is one of the best cricketers that India has produced & a much much better batsman than Saurav Mamuly and one bigger difference between them is that Dravid is committed to the team !

Suman, agree completely. Dravid has to be credited with being the most committed player in the team & ganguly the most polticized......and this is so obvious that even a blind cud see it.
The way ganguly played....it was either deliberate or he's pure incapable of scoring fast....and both suggest he doesn't belong

If you want a plumber to do painting and sell it for millions you get the same thing. Dont tell leonardo Da vinci or Michaelangelo to fix your commodes and a person like dravid who is good at fixing commodes should not be asked to paint the cystene chapell. Sorry if truth hurts anyone..

Ganguly is a traitor.....he played for B'desh. All bengalis are celebrating......coz they all are traitors. Ganguly is awarded the B'desh Ratna for his services to the B'desh team. Ganguly's wife will perform a dance at the ceremony coz she's a gud & famous bengali dancer
I think it was More and Chappell who together went all out to destroy the mental fabric of the Indian Team and it was written on the wall that this team wiud proceed nowhere in World Level competition.
Vengsarkar did right by bringing back the likes of Ganguly, Zaheer. Imagine the condition without this More's discarded duo. We wud hv been out of the Cup before it started !!!!
More, the real politik player, has no right to speak on the team composition and the Media-Print and TV- shud not gv importance to him by asking his opinion or interview......He is the real destroyer ......

u r right .... World Cup is fought by captains like aggressive Ganguly...(thatswhy u dislike Aussies ....) and not the likes of Dravid who cannot be emotionally stirred under any circumstance or pressure.. who starts practising his speech for media before the wicket starts falling....
we r resposible by putting so much pressure on the players. i think they cannot even sleep when they think what will happen to there home here if they dont perform well. under this pressure even experinced player fail to perform. why all these songs, prayers, slogan etc let them do what they can. lets not make such hype of this game (even this is not our national game)
Ask him how many matches he has won for india. who asked him to be the selector. Thou indian team is good in papers what they missing is the attitude that of making a grat team which we can see in South africans thorough professionals. We indians like to put pressure on only in Indian cricket team as this is the only sport in the country that has got glory for indain in past. Does anybody take time to talk about our national sport hockey,tennis or anyother sport. Thou we are 1/6th of the population of the world. Its like only one bread earner for the whole country. If we really see most of the other nations do have other sport where they have got glory for their country. What about INDIA. probably time to think??????

sport like war is team event,it is ultimately that emotional contribution rising above everything which gives u the victory.Remember 1992,an old captain who could hardly walk inspired a victory which was remarkable.so did that 175 by our great kapilji against Zimbabwe won us the cup.Humilaiating our old great players like Azhar,Jadeja,More will make things worse forever.Cricket is a Game.The world cup willbe in the hands who rise above business intersts and players who let the people see them only on the grounds and not riding bikes or drinking boost.
