by vijay kumar on Mar 23, 2007 01:29 AM  Permalink

Then Bangladesh will have 4 points india 3 !!!.

Harbajan or Kumble..
by Vinod Kumar on Mar 23, 2007 01:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Among Harbajan & Kumble whom do you think is the right person in the next match with SL. My vote is for Kumble - bcoz for his experience & the talent he has. Please give your votes..

I would say BOTH!
And replace Uthappa with Pathan for your third seamer. He is as good a batsman, down the order.
Even if he doesn't bowl good, no worries fill in with SRT/VS/YS/SG

Looking ahead...
by Govi Gaini on Mar 23, 2007 12:41 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Read the rest only if you believe India will beat SL.

India's path to semis looks brighter than
before. Here are my super eight teams, with
points carried.

Super-8
Aus(2), SA(0)
Ind(2), SL(0)
NZ(2), Eng(0)
WI(2), Ire(0)

Assuminig that Ireland will not win a single
game, here is the points tally (remember WI plays them in pool league)

Aus(4), SA(2)
Ind(4), SL(2)
NZ(4), Eng(2)
WI(2), Ire(0)

Aus, Ind, and NZ have 2 more points than other teams, which makes
them favorites at this point. Now consider the points that teams
have carried from pool games. Aus's and Ind's are hard earned because
they beat stronger teams (SA and SL). That makes them bigger
favorites to move on to semis.
Now India will have to look at games against England and WI as must
wins, then they will be very close to making to semis.

Even though WI will move to Super-8 with 2 points, it has to consider unlucky because
those points are from a win over the weakest
team in Super-8. But on the brighter side, they
will have an extra game compared to other
teams if you take out Ireland from the picture.

Interesting observation. I wish this were true. If we beat England and Windies (ofcourse Ireland too), we have brighter chances of making it to semis.

Semis probables - Aus vs NZ and Ind vs South Africa. India meets NewZealand in finals.

I want to see India - NewZealand final and beat them black and blue to get the cup home.

India must and will win
by RediffReader on Mar 23, 2007 12:39 AM  Permalink

Come on guys, I know India chokes at the last minute most of the times. It is also our own psycology mentally. How many times did you get what you wanted. Did you all get Green Card in US even when your processing dates is in place.

Develop an attitude to support our guys whereever they are and it would boost them and also your personality.

Irrespective of the rumors that ICC would lose some millions of dollars, our guys would still fight to give us the best entertainment. This group would not give up till the end.

Hope India does it in style. I appreciate the facts compiled by nikunj thakkar.

there are no reserve dsy. Points get split .. SL goes to the S8. Indians will have sitting , warming up their chairs, hoping that BD loses to BER (fat chances of that happening). The other way they can qualify is if the BER and BD also gets washed out and India go to S8 on better RR

Common Guys .. Be Honest and answer this one
by Beamer Bees on Mar 22, 2007 11:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Do we really deserve to win tomorrow's match ?
- Inconsistent Batting
- Pathetic Fielding
- Useless Bowling. eg)In the match against BER, they could not get the only professional batsmen in the team, that is, Hemp who scored an unbeaten 75. If thats the case how can you expect the team to beat a very good batting line-up that SL has.
I have lil hopes abt India winning the match.
Your take ?

Toothless bowling rather than Useless Bowling. Its tragedy that indian bowlers cant even wrapup tail-enders quickly. Lets wish india in super-8.

India is known for choking against the tailenders. Lets hope they take the top 5-6 Lanka batsman for 100 and then bundle up the rest atleast for 200.

Unfortunately, people like you are the one because of whom the game is loosing essence

Ek match mein usual result kya aajaataa hai, u guys cry loud that it was fixed. Kisi ki mehnat ki kyon wajoode udaate ho boss

Think it like this... U get the best achievement of life some day in the field u r in and some one cries... "oh it was only acting" how on earth u would feel

That day bangladesh played really well and thats a good reason they deserved a win. Can't there be situations like this in sports??? Does it only have to be FIXING always.

Grow up yaar
