The least we can do is stop watching cricket. All the money pouring into cricket is due to it high TRP's. Once the TRP's go low, the advertisers will start looking at other avenues to grab eyeballs. This will also result in dearth of sponsorship contracts with the cricketers. Its time we get serious about detaching our sentiments with this Business thats called Cricket, and investing our energies elsewhere.
THE BEST, most vaunted, feared, dreaded, accomplished, murderous BATTING LINEUP in the world Could not bat out its quota of 50 overs agaisnt the (so called) minnow's bowling attack!!!
The media hype, cricket frenzy, NEWS channels (for crying out loud) running trying to heighten the cricket wars long b4 the tournament, priests performing sacrifices and wat not-- All thaht is to get the people to watch their channels -- to make money! n in the process they dont mind catapulting mere cricketers to the status of demi Gods n Gods! ALL are money making, money grabbin schemes!
These "carnival freaks" should dig a hole for themselves (even deeper than the one they dug when batting against Bangladesh) and jump in it to never show their ugly, talentless faces ever again! -- Sheesh, n to think of it , these television channels have wanted us to beleive that this is the team that will win us the World Cup!!! -- all i can say to that is, day-dreaming is fine but should be left for ones personal time -- NOT aired to a billion people the country over!
The ICC has already eased eveyones fortunes by allowing ALL 8 PLAYING teams to qualify to the next round --so that everyone feels like they HAVE earned it. But the truth is that the REAL competition i.e biggest prize in the game SHOULD not start at some qualifying stage. People should be made to really EARN their spot -- atleast like the SUPER SIX in 2003! But India, despite being served a berth on a golden platter (just like every other test playing team) have floundered even this chance. In actuality, making it to the semi finals too IS NOT and SHOULD NOT a big deal at all because there are only 8 'competing' nations and 4 semifinal berths -- SO if India cant make THAT cut, it HAS ABSO-freakin-LUTELY NO RIGHT to call itself even a modestly "good team" -- let alone THE SECOND BEST TEAM behind AUSTRALIA!
The population of India is more than the combined population of all the other countries playing the world cup. Still India has always struggled to produce 11 decent cricketers. All the cricket management, the cricketers themselves and the uber-hyping media ought to jump in a dry well and choke each other to death.
Bottom line is -- There wallets are bulging %u2013 there main problem is that their wallets are too small for their Rs.1000 notes and playing for INDIA is no more a matter of pride for them but merely an access to money making-machine -- So as long as there is no motivation for these utmost ridiculous bunch of losers, collectively called - Men in Blue - and self professed best ever team to go to a world cup, there will be no results.
The day the indian cap is worn wid pride and to uphold the esteem of a nation and a billion hearts tis team will become unbeatable!
Sadly enuf, that day is not anywhere near the horizon.
Why 'Team India' failed miserably against Bangladesh. There are some glaring pointers which even a lay man can note. Bangladesh bowlers have been bowling accurately on to the stumps. The computer graphic pictures showed this aspect. So much so, if the batsman missed the ball it was bound to hit the wicket. This technique is not new though. "Length and Line" were the mantras for good bowling. India had one of the best spinners like Gupte and Nadkarni and Ravi Shashtry who bowled on to the stumps mainly. Somehow, of late our spinners and pace bowlers have got into the habit of bowling outside the stumps, a technique adopted by Australian bowlers to entice the batsman to nick the ball and offer a catch. Our batsmen too have been accustomed to such bowling from Agarkar, Pathan and other pace bowlers. They seem to have forgotten that accurate bowling will definitely get wickets. Finally, it is seen that our batsmen seem to have forgotten how to face left arm spinners of repute. So it is suggested that BCCI scout for good left arm spinner from our country and send them to West Indies post haste to use them in training of our boys in blue before they face similar spinners in other teams . Otherwise we can expect another humiliating defeat.
Even though India has lost its match with Bangladesh it has done its 'the best' with Bermuda and so we could hope that India would enter super8 by defeating SRI LANKA.
Our batting order should be chnged and put according to the prevailing situtation. For example if India is in critical condition and need a strike rate batsman the opening must be Dhoni and Yuvaraj. Thus during this situtation non strike rate batsmen like Dravid must be put 6 or 7 down.
I thank Rahul and his guys for concern about 10th & 12th std students who are writing their public exams, so they would not see india playing a rubbish game wasting their time and future
