Why 'Team India' failed miserably against Bangladesh. There are some glaring pointers which even a lay man can note. Bangladesh bowlers have been bowling accurately on to the stumps. The computer graphic pictures showed this aspect. So much so, if the batsman missed the ball it was bound to hit the wicket. This technique is not new though. "Length and Line" were the mantras for good bowling. India had one of the best spinners like Gupte and Nadkarni and Ravi Shashtry who bowled on to the stumps mainly. Somehow, of late our spinners and pace bowlers have got into the habit of bowling outside the stumps, a technique adopted by Australian bowlers to entice the batsman to nick the ball and offer a catch. Our batsmen too have been accustomed to such bowling from Agarkar, Pathan and other pace bowlers. They seem to have forgotten that accurate bowling will definitely get wickets. Finally, it is seen that our batsmen seem to have forgotten how to face left arm spinners of repute. So it is suggested that BCCI scout for good left arm spinner from our country and send them to West Indies post haste to use them in training of our boys in blue before they face similar spinners in other teams . Otherwise we can expect another humiliating defeat.
