Indians are emotional fools; lets face it guys, Zaheer is a good ok great bowler who has sharpened the art of fast bowling and come back in great style to cement his place in the Indian team. Its a fight back to equal the one done by Dada; so no grudging his fighting instincts!
This is what winners are made of! He could also have packed his bag and like some one our brethren said, started a new over bowling maidens over off the field. But first to make an observation on those comments; he is a young man and it is his personal life, while he must learn to behave and pay the price of being a celebrity, noone can make a comment on his alternative alliances. After all guys, he cant remain single all through his life just because someone on the rediff message board doesnt like it!!!
So lets forget that topic and concentrate on the WC; here is where he has to show his talent. He is more fitter, mature fast bowler and if he can consistently touch 137kmph and move the ball he will definitely be a handfull! So lets not compare him with our older gems like Kapil and Srinath etc. Lets benchmark him by his performance for India; in the recent past he has been a great contributor (in the absense of a non performing Pathan), and if he continues in the same vein, he could be one of our lynchmen in getting the first few breakthroughs! Remember all the world cups, we have relied on our bowlers, so even in this edition it will not any different.
So lets back our boys and hope they stick to basics and ensure half the battle is won; the other half will be up to our 'famous' batters!!

Kapil is much better than Srinath. He was a good batsmen and he was the world cup winning captain, nothing can be compared to it. Looks like you are a kannadiga, equating Kapil and Srinath. Even Zaheer used to bowl at 140 when he came on.

i'm excited after watching all our players are in optimistics mood,it's nice to see our front line bowlers are in full flow the only think is to deliver some goods on the particular day i hope they will too.

Don't blame Zaheer for India's loos in the world cup final. I mean Srinath got hammered for 84 for his ten overs. Everyone bowler got hammered, Australia scored 349. India never looked like they could win the world cup. Tendulker, Ganguly, Dravid everyone failed, only sehwag did well.
In the 2003 world cup Zaheer took many wickets, he got more wickets than srinath or other indian bowlers.

Infact, the 2003 final is the only match in that WC sehwag contributed. He was absolutely waste in the line up otherwise.atleast let sehwag change that this scinario this wc, proving the trust the captain reposed on him.

nobody is blaming only Zaheer for loss of WC, we are just discussing his first over in WC 2003 that opened the flood gates for Australia to post such a massive score and besides this article is about Zaheer so why talk about others here. That first over by Zaheer cannot be forgotten

True we dont want 'competition' we want quality, and noone comes close to Zaheer bhai as of now. Its like comparing a Lion to a rabbit...you cant hope for competition there right mate??!!
