Indians are emotional fools; lets face it guys, Zaheer is a good ok great bowler who has sharpened the art of fast bowling and come back in great style to cement his place in the Indian team. Its a fight back to equal the one done by Dada; so no grudging his fighting instincts!
This is what winners are made of! He could also have packed his bag and like some one our brethren said, started a new over bowling maidens over off the field. But first to make an observation on those comments; he is a young man and it is his personal life, while he must learn to behave and pay the price of being a celebrity, noone can make a comment on his alternative alliances. After all guys, he cant remain single all through his life just because someone on the rediff message board doesnt like it!!!
So lets forget that topic and concentrate on the WC; here is where he has to show his talent. He is more fitter, mature fast bowler and if he can consistently touch 137kmph and move the ball he will definitely be a handfull! So lets not compare him with our older gems like Kapil and Srinath etc. Lets benchmark him by his performance for India; in the recent past he has been a great contributor (in the absense of a non performing Pathan), and if he continues in the same vein, he could be one of our lynchmen in getting the first few breakthroughs! Remember all the world cups, we have relied on our bowlers, so even in this edition it will not any different.
So lets back our boys and hope they stick to basics and ensure half the battle is won; the other half will be up to our 'famous' batters!!
