By now I am sure u all have find out that this article and teh prediction of Super Eight matches are completly hyped and rumours. India will play pakistan either on April 15th or on April 19th depending on group stage standing of both India and Pakistan in respective group.
The following example is not correct as per the writer.
For example, if South Africa wins Group A and Australia comes second, for the purposes of the Super Eights, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1."
A1 will be the team who will stand 1st in its group and similarly A2 will be teh second scored team in the group.
Assuming there is no upset, India has to loss to SL in group stage and Pakistan has to win against WI so that they can meet on April 15th.

Get to know some facts b4 u start writing. This will help - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/low/cricket/6310307.stm. Even if India beats SL and Pak loses to WI, the seedings will still be the same buddy.
please refrain from publishing such an opinionated article in the future. the author sounds more like an irate kid. moreover no one has forced the author to watch the world cup and he can go ahead and live his life in peace
Get on with your life. The icc has not forced you to watch cricket. It's thoughtful on the part of the ICC to draw up the seeded schedule so that fans can plan in advance. Please do not publish such opinionated crap in the future.
The rules on the ICC website are rather shady. The author may well be right. BUT it can be a good thing! The fans can plan better (on taking leave etc) and it may make the 'minnows' work harder to stage an upset!

Actually, its pretty clear. It says :
"Each team will carry forward its result against the other team qualifying from its preliminary stage group, and will play the other six qualifying teams once each. The top four teams in the league will qualify for the semi-finals."
It also continues to say :
"The fixtures (below) for the Super 8 league relate to A1 being the first seed in group A, A2 the second, B1 the first in group B etc, as the expected qualifiers from each group. It does not refer to the actual league placings from round one."

'It' says? The pdf file with rules is what i found shady. may be u can give the url of where u quote from.
We are rushing into things.. What the ICC has planned makes perfect sense.. As someone pointed out, the B1-B2 labeling does not matter. Even if India is named B2, they will be carrying forward the points they got if they beat Sri Lanka. Which will mean that they still will have two points when Super 8 starts and Sri Lanka will have 0. In short, what this does is help people plan the trip well in advance. But thanks to Rediff for pointing this out.. I had got tickets for both B1 and B2 matches and didn't know which ones to go for.. Now that I know that India will be B2, I can plan my trip..
He's goddamn right all u fools. Read the BBC article about the cricket cup rules (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/low/cricket/6310307.stm).
I quote from that article
-------------------------------------------------
"The Super Eight seeding is the same as used in the first round, based on world ranking, with no notice taken of whether a side finishes first or second in a group.
For example, if South Africa win Group A and Australia come second, for the purposes of the Super Eight, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1.
Since Super eight is also a league stage where each team has to every other team of other group, it doesnt matter which one is called 1 or 2. So Unless there is major upset by the minnowm, the super wight stage is very much decided already. There's no stupidity in this article and hats off to Rediff for letting people know this before anyone else.
The current standings withing the group on the ICC website are based on the World Cup seedings of the teams...now these standings will obviously change as the matches begin...what crap of an article is this? And it's the top headline on Rediff! Ridiculous!!!

it seems that the seedings they'd consider are those on a particular date. so, all matches get fixed on that date. so, the article isn't wrong in that sense.
The author has made a wrong interpretation tht it wont matter who comes 1st or 2nd in a gp. The links given by him dont suggest tht. If India tops the gp., it wud be B1, n the matches wud be scheduled according 2 tht.
Author don't have minimum knowledge on cricket. And rediff once more time prove a just media hype website. Rediff you are just loosing your dignity by printing such FALTU articles. Just back off and retain good readers like me. If you just want to create media helluva retain this. B2 Vs D1 means the Team stood up second in B group ( That means India need to stand second place, It means India need to loosed to SL or Bermuda or Bangladesh in the leagues) and The Top team in D Group , it means Pakistan need to won all the games in theor leagues. I don't bother if Pakistan won all their games, but a true Indian fan..I want India should win over all the less known teams and also over SriLanka. So ,it only a possibility of chance that can happen..But author is quoting a possibility to a certain. Faltu Article.

Breathing is good apparently!
It does not matter who is labelled B1 and B1. Even if India wins all 3 games, it can be labelled B2 because Super8 is a league. Read more at http://i3j3cricket.wordpress.com

NO! you are wrong! That's the whole point of the article. It doesn't matter who comes first in India's group. India will be B2 regardless. And India will play Pakistan on April 15 assuming both teams qualify (it does NOT matter whether they come 1st or 2nd in their group, as long as they qualify)
