Watch the Proceedings with Popped up Eyes
by Indra Sengupta on Feb 24, 2007 01:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pathan has all the ingredients of becoming a match winner.
He has the potential of a genuine all reounder like Kallis or Bevan or Pollock.
It has been a great blunder on the part of Dravid to try and make him a batsman up the order with the intention of preventing someones entry, who might have regained his lost captaincy.
Sheer politics showed its ugly face with experiments like changing the batting order of Pathan or persisting with club level crickerters like Raina.
Still no way. You would have to support the captain now. Let captain be satisfied with the label of captain.
Leader is someone else and leadership is something else.
Leader is attracting the young ones like a magnet.
Leader is drawing the entire country towards him like a magnet.
You can not do anything about it.
Either join the bandwagon of Dada worshippers or live in a silent seclusion in a corner and watch the proceedings with popped up eyes.

Dear Dravid,
Ignore the barking dogs. You are the captain, you are the leader. Other than a few morons, the world knows that.
You have a good team in hand. Ganguly, Tendulkar, Sehwag, Zaheer and all. Get the best out of them.
Go, India, go! Dravid, Ganguly, Sachin, Sehwag, Zaheer, Dhoni, Kumble, Agarkar, Karthik, Robin, Ajit, Bhajji, Pathan, Yuvi and Sreesanth. Play as one team. Play for India. Bring back the world cup.

Bedi and Chopra
by Indra Sengupta on Feb 24, 2007 10:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One unnecessary appendage is seen quite frequently in cricketing circles, always trying
to catch attention not with her intellect, wit or cricketing knowledge but by exposing something else.
Unintelligent use of female body is
a pretty old technique resorted to by
people to sell their poems, art, literature or even products.
It is bad to repeat the technique in cricket telecasts where this diversion appears disturbing.
Let her not be seen around.
She serves no real purpose.
Anjum Chopra appears quite sensible in her analysis, dress, elegance or whatever.
I want to see her more.

We don't mind Mandira's free entertainment in a different program, but not mixed with cricket.

Good Deeds of Little Masters

Gavaskar once said that he would never play at the Eden after he was pelted with oranges following his failures in the Eighties, but at the GD Birla Sabhagar two day's back he chose to bury the past. He did not play the Test against Pakistan in 1987. It at would have been his last Test appearance at the Eden.

At the Calcutta Sports Journalists%u2019 Club%u2019s golden jubilee awards function, Gavaskar was presented a Lifetime Achievement award for his contribution to the game.
Mithun Chakraborty presented the award, a citation, a plaque and a trophy, mementos, a caricature and, of course, the traditional Bengali sweet delicacies like doi, mishti.
Sachin Tendulkar donated his 194 not out gloves for the medical treatment of a Kolkata Moidan Referee Pradip Nag.
Just two day's days back the gloves fetched Rs 1,11,000 on auction and the ailing man was crying on this gesture of the little master. Sachin followed up with an SMS to the Prez of Sports journalists assn.
Ganguly also rushes for charity works, saves many critical and dying patients arranging for the much needed funds.
However, our salute goes to both the litlle masters for all their good cricket, good deeds and charities.
Kolkata loves both of you Sirs
