Right Exactly! Gavaskar's 36 runs of 174 is an epic, that cant be so easily duplicated by any1. Even one can dream of breaking Lara's record 501.. but not this 36 of 174.
And Actually, the funniest part is that Gavaskar later admitted that he got a nick on the 2nd ball of his epic inning that went un-noticed.
And, he did not dare to accept the truth and come out of the crease.
He has no right to talk about others. I wish Ricky gives back something similar to what he did before.

Abhijeet - Test wins in SA and WI are much bigger than the circus that is going on in West Indies right now. The fact is that Indian system does not produce talent which can perform in any soil other than that in the sub-continent barring the exceptions which happened last year. Just look at the top 6 teams in the world and compare them with what India has - ageing superstars who kept their place due to lack of new talent and records against depleted teams. Our talent pool in cricket is a reality check of what India is as a sports nation ... and that is that we are a big zero. Let alone Chappel - no one can make a difference. Not the very least this scumbag called Sunil Gavaskar.

Who was in the Indian team which won the world cup in 1983? Who was in the 1976 test series winning team in WI? Who held the record for a long time for being the highest run scorer in Tests?

Who was in the 1976 test series winning team in WI? >> India lost that series ( won one test and lost two ) ; Vishy and Mohinder were the heroes of that match. World cup 1983 - again Mohinder was the hero. Gavaskar looked completely listless in the finals...and yes , he was the highest scorer for a long time and he was extremely talented. As a person - Gavaskar was always considered mean and political.
Let me clear the doubt people are having that gavaskar does not want to coach . Please check out the fact. Last time also he had come forward to coach the indian team but on one condition that he would be answerable only to president of India & not the " bunch of jokers " i.e. BCCI et al. He knows how the indian cricket functions , the politics involved, the pressure from politicians & the heavyweights . Hence even if he would like to give a proper shake to indian cricket he would not be allowed by all these people.

Why are you posting same message again and again. Don't you have anything else to post?? Becos of you fools all the other messages are reported as abuse.
I think Gavaskar is partially right as when Chappel joined as team India coach, Indian Team was almost No.1 team of the world in ODI as well as test cricket. He came and changed everything and instead of boosting their morale, he injected virus of fear in Team India resulted into fear of being a part of Indian team. We have best players in our team, then why Chappel was experimenting on players. They have proved their worth in Indian & World cricket, he should have made them mentally more strong rather putting pressure on them. It is important to understand that when head of the family (coach in team India case) is not strong & trust other family members, chances are that whole family (team India) lost confidence and break which has happened. We don't need a coach who teach them how to play, but a mentor who make them strong and inject in them KILLING SPIRIT and POWER TO WIN.
