Gavaskar is partially right
by Jitender Srivastava on Apr 23, 2007 09:07 AM

I think Gavaskar is partially right as when Chappel joined as team India coach, Indian Team was almost No.1 team of the world in ODI as well as test cricket. He came and changed everything and instead of boosting their morale, he injected virus of fear in Team India resulted into fear of being a part of Indian team. We have best players in our team, then why Chappel was experimenting on players. They have proved their worth in Indian & World cricket, he should have made them mentally more strong rather putting pressure on them. It is important to understand that when head of the family (coach in team India case) is not strong & trust other family members, chances are that whole family (team India) lost confidence and break which has happened. We don't need a coach who teach them how to play, but a mentor who make them strong and inject in them KILLING SPIRIT and POWER TO WIN.
