Even slow scoring with Bermuda was designed to throw india out of WCBut other platers scored briskly so we survived for time being.

Bangladesh was playing with 12 players in WC win against India. whereas India played with 10 players.

Ganguly played for himself and Bangladesh.

Bad Decision
by Ibrahim Sheik on Apr 08, 2007 12:57 PM  Permalink

Come on Guys,

Dravid is a good human being but he does not have the Fury to win and mould the players. We Indians always need somebody to put a gun on the head, then only we will perform to exceed the limits. So Dravid is soft hearted person, we need somebody who is agressive, as far as I know Ganguly can be a better option..

Tendlya vs Chappell

Almost as soon as he took over as coach, Chappell made a comment saying he didn%u2019t think Sachin was "ever going to be the player he was".

The coach had his way, got Tendulkar to bat in the middle-order in recent months.

Chappell or Sachin: Who's the bigger problem?

Sourav vs Dravid: %u2018I Know What Is Right%u2019

During Sourav Ganguly%u2019s knock of 66 (129 balls, four fours) in the opening game against Bangladesh, Dravid is reported to have sent word twice or thrice to his predecessor to get the scoring rate going, but did not draw the desired response. The left-handed batsman, known to be a scourge of left-arm spinners, made just 45 runs off 69 balls against three left-arm spinners. He got out in the 44th over and left the later order with a lot to do, making Dravid fret and fume.

***

An SMS query about team composition that a journalist had meant for Sourav Ganguly ended up with another player. Of course, as is the nature of intrigues in the Indian team, the latter promptly shared it with skipper Rahul Dravid. The captain told Ganguly at a team meeting that he did not appreciate such interaction with the media. Ganguly shot back: "I have been captain of the Indian team and I know what is right and not. In any case, unlike you, I%u2019ve friends in the media." Enough said.

harbajan is pathatic He did perform mor than yr only 2 times informed by ICC for his long action

He with his politican ganguly and dhoni ditched dravid and backstabbed team.

2 matches wktless

kumlbe one match 3 wkts.

there is diff between politicians cricketer and players

ganguly ditched dalmiay and dravid

he can do it to harbjan also...

Laxman and kumble was out of oid team b'cuz of ganguly'd dirty politics he promoted groupism

Over the last year and a bit %u2014 starting with India's tour to Pakistan in early 2006 %u2014 India have played 41 One-day internationals (ODIs). Tendulkar has played in 26 of those and averaged 44.67 over this period with an impressive strike rate of 83.15 and six fifties and three centuries to boot. It might seem like there is no room for complaint here. Indian skipper Dravid has figures that are not quite as impressive as Sachin's, but they aren't disastrous either. An average of almost 39 over 36 innings is only a touch below Dravid's career average and the strike rate of 75.28 is healthy too. Sourav alone of the big four has reason to be unambivalently proud of what he has achieved during this period. He has played only nine innings since his return, but he has clocked up six fifties and a 48 for an average of 63.63, way above his overall career average.

The strike rate of 71.89 may be lower than you would expect from a stroke-player of his class, but is hardly something to be ashamed of. The only caveat one may have is that six of the nine innings have been on easy Indian pitches and against relatively weak attacks like West Indies or Sri Lanka minus Vaas and Muralitharan.

Of the remaining three, two have been against Bangladesh and Bermuda. That might be reason for not getting too euphoric about Ganguly's performance of late, but it would be churlish to hold it against him

Pls check the statistics before u make such statement

ganguly, dhoni harbjan yuvraj 's performance?? did ganguly urvrak dhoni scored 100s or their performance helped team in anyway had big role in defeat

u hv no guts to talk speak against ganguly's dadagiri it involeved herbajan dhoni and zahir kahn

Just like saba karim, deshdhohi jadeja and ur self scream only ganguly be captain, dravid and sachin should retire. the performance of ganguly is worst than dravid and sachin. at least both not wasted so many balls, the strike rate of dravid and sachin is better than ganguly

The real culprits by S Rajesh

a captain is as good as his team and it is individual palyer to deicide to suppor team and captain or play for self ?? I

IN ndtv big cricket poll survey %u2013 which was conducted by among 15 state criciket associations 80% ppl voted for dravid to retain captaincy

Retain Dravid as captain, Sachin should quit ODIs

Should Rahul Dravid be replaced as the captain of the Indian team?

And the answer was in the negative with 86 per cent saying he should not be removed with only nine per cent saying that he should be replaced.

The rest five per cent did not have any opinion.

by Suman Bhat on Apr 08, 2007 12:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

when dravid made captain team was broken ship and ranked NO8th in ICC rankingnow even after so many defeats it is ranked NO 6th( till yesterday's varified)

dravid is still No 12th in odi ranking

.

Indian captains in ODIs

Names Matches Won Lost Drawn/Tied Won%

Kapil Dev 74 40 32 2 54.05%

M Azharuddin 173 89 76 6/2 51.45%

SR Tendulkar 73 23 43 6/1 31.51%

SC Ganguly 146 76 65 5 52.05%

R Dravid 65 33 28 4 50.77%

dravid led team lesser no of matches and winning average is only 1.22% less than ganguly's success as captain b'cuz ganguly had advantage of leading team more nos of mathces and more lengthier period. Ganguly had god father called dalmiya and full support of bcci but dravid is criticized by chief slectore board officials etc%u2026

India team early exit is b%u2019cuz of dirty negative criket played delebartely by some senior player and chappell had guts to raise issue all senior players are responsible for WC debacle. Some players deliberately played negative cricket and gifted match to Bangladesh.IF players wer not ready to support team cause or captian, why blame captain and coach??

Many ppl say dravid is not inspirational captain and ganguly had that spark

If players has to decide to play for team cause or self. And motivation /inspriration can be attained by self attempt ( by positive thinking and right mindset) captain can only tell but individual player has to believe in self strength. In big event like WC if players can get motivated to play negative cricket why can%u2019t they inspire to play for team???
