Have you noticed that since Mumbai players left the team in the 80s, India has become a very weak team. In the 80s, we used to win Test and ODI series abroad. In 90s, things started becoming worse and in 2000s things have become worst.
Mumbaikars should come back and start ruling Indian cricket again. Enough of pro-kolkata Mutiaha and pro-South Mutiah. It is good that Vengsarkar has become chief selector. Now Sachin should become captain and Mumbai players like Amol Muzumdar, Vinayak Mane, Rohit Sharma etc should come into the Indian side besides of course Ajit Agarkar and Powar. Then only things can start improving in Indian cricket.
Before you start abusing me, i want to confirm that i am not a Mumbaikar neither ami from Maharashtra. But i have followed cricket for 27 years and enough to know what goes on in Indian cricket.

Mr Major, you have major brain problem. Do you know what you are talking. It is simple logic. When you are playing for the country, you should put your flesh & blood for the sake of country. Dont we have other good players other than those you have mentioned? Then why dont you advise a seperate team of Mumbaikaars apart from Indian team so that your so-called Mumbaikaars will win laurels to Maharastra? Your word may be a word of command in the army and if you dont know about the cricket game, please do not utter foolishly. Whoever dont perform well, he should be shown exit and take your own case, if you do not do well, dont you be a target for your superiors in your own profession? Similarly, a million hearts have eagerly watched at least our senior players will give a good fight till the end. But none of the scrap idiots performed well and now they are saying they have been mentally disturbed and blaming the fingers at Chappel. Where was your talent when you were given enough opportunities. Naachne nahi aayeh, aangan theda. Kick their butts for showing the lame excuses and above to it, you are adding fuel to fire like only Mumbaikaars should rule Indian cricket. Kick all the mumbaikaars from the team and indict new blood and see the results. How long these senior idiots want to cherish the place in Indian team. Better you suggest those seniors before advising any other guy.

So after 27 years of cricket, this is what you've learnt? Only Mumbaikars can play cricket? Probably you are retarded.
If everyone in the team is a Mumbaikar, everyone knows, they will do better.
Similary everyone in the team is a Bengali, they will do better too.
1) why r u referring so much abt mumbai biasedness of BCCI. why at all the question. Sachin is not bad enough to be dropped. so there is no question of mumbai biasedness and then concluding that he will not be dropped bcoz of power and company. At the first place this question can not arise.
2)If you think that sachin speaks on chappel just bcoz of his reputation, then its ur thinking. Everybody is entitled to think in their own way. I don't think so. I think he said so bcoz he was hurted. Its duty of media persons to not consider that full context, rather postmortem each sentence and each word and draw inference from that. when sb speaks then he speaks in a flow and by a collection of sentences he tries to convey what he feels. and of a series of sentences sth may come out in between by which sbelse draw sth else. its not fair. Instead of doing postmortem on each and every sentence ppl shud give attention on whole context, body language. that gives more clear picture and gives the totality. sachin is not like president or PM of india, so that his speech wud have been prepared and analysed by lot of experts. He was speaking on the spontaneously. And in spontaneous speech its quite possible that u speak some sentence trying to convey sth and ppl can draw entirely different thing from that. bcoz there are so many intellectual and honest media person in india waiting for scrutinize us dialogue sentence by sentence and word by word.
3) regarding ur mention of double century episode in pakistan: Its obvious that sachin wanted to complete double century and feeled unhappy after declaration but he may not be wrong. All players relishes their personal achievement. And if u say player shud not give a dammn thinking to their personal achievement then all players are wrong not only sachin bcoz all players try to make that. It become problem only when it came at the cost of team interest. If it is aligned to team interest then it is perfectly ok. so we have to judge that whether sachin intention to make double century was against team interest? If it wasn't then there is no problem. We can't scrutinize him just bcoz he wanted to make double century. who will not prefer that. So lets decide whether it was against team interest. According to leaked information there was continuous communication between sachin and dressing room, and they settled with some number of overs. sachin was playing according to that. and then yuraj got out and dravid declared before the settled number of overs. and sachin was unhappy on the fact the they settled on sth and ended with sth else. unhappiness was not just on not making double ton but also on the fact that sb din't keep the promise. so here sachin was not doing anything against team. he was doing only that was discussed. So I don't think it was wrong. You can argue that he shud have increased the run rate without needing all those dialogue. But there problem was not of run, it was of remaining overs in the day. India has already scored more that 700 runs. that was enough to win the match. So even if he played a bit slowly causing 25-30 fewer runs, it doesn't matter. whether team score 700 or 730 it doesn't matter. both are enough score. and issue was blown by media. on that day sachin and dravid had personnel meeting and after that everything was fine. sachin did just one mistake. on his way to pavelion media person asked "r u unhappy". and at that moment he was really unhappy and said exactly what he was. he said he was taken by surprise. that was the only mistake that he did. spoke those two sentence to media. everything else was fine. players are also human being. basic nature of human like feeling sad, feeling happy, daily small small liking unliking and differences can happen to players also. Its basic nature of human being that can happen to the writer of this article too. But when these things happens to our daily like then nobody knows. At the same time if it happens to players, issue used to be blown out of proportion by media and we started raising national character. basically the reality is very small matter but what we come to know and perceive becomes a big thing like question mark on player dedication, character etc. Tell me one thing. Aren't our soldiers, who go on border and die for country and known to be patriots, involve in daily life differences within their society. They used to be. And it is bound to happen irrespective of anybody profession, be it player or soldier or engineer or doctor. Because we are first human being and then any professional. The only difference is that when sth happen to normal person nobody knows. but when it happens to celebrity or players who remains under media scrutiny, issue used to be blown by media. and then activity which are part and parcel of daily life become question of national character. So problem is not with sachin or dravid. It is with media.
3) sachin desire to open: what is the problem if sachin thinks he can help the team batting at opening slot. Every players used to have fix position and they like that. ponting come at one down. gilchrist and hayden comes as opener. jaysurya is opener. lara and kallis is middle order batsman. Some players are suitable for particular slots. Also, if sb play for a long time on some slot he is bound to have affection with that slot. So if sachin feels he can play more freely at opening slot what's the problem. He has been playing on that slot since 1994. Don't u think that if sb play at fix slot for 12 years then he won't feel comfort and affection for that slot. If u don't think so then u r not human being. Sachin just said his liking and preference. He said when media person asked the question. He didn't call a media interview and declared his preference to put pressure on chappel. He just gave honest reply to a question without any wrong intention. what's wrong with that. Don't we expect honest reply from sachin if we ask sth. And finally he did what team wanted against his personal preference. Isn't it sufficient. what do u want. u want to control his liking also. Can any human being control that. Happiness, unhappiness, preference are the essential part of behaviour that u can't control. U can give a rational thought and decide what is better and take decision accordingly. But u cannot control those behavioural characteristics. Sachin did the same. Although he has particular preference, he gave a thought and decide that whatever team management saying may be valid and did bat down the order. Isn't that sufficient. If u think that his reply may have caused some chaos then guilty is the media who asked the question.
CONCLUSION: EVERYTHING IS FINE IN WORLD. ITS MEDIA WHO MAKE EVERTHING WRONG. ITS MEDIA WHO CONVERT BASIC NATURE OF HUMAN BEING INTO QUESTION OF NATIONAL CHARACTER. HENCE PLAYERS ARE FINE, WHAT THEY DO ARE ALSO FINE, BUT THE ROOT OF EVERY ISSUE, EVERY PROBLEM IS MEDIA.

Hey Mukesh,
I could taste the sense of aristocracy in each and every sentence of yours, just like I expect from an average Indian. 1. Sachin is bad enough to be dropped if there are too many better (selfless) players available, to be selected, at this point in time.
2. He was hurt, I agree with you, but who cares. He was spoiled by stupid cricket fans. If he is hurt, blame it on his fans, who made him God. He has a terrible attitude towards team spirit, since a long time. 3. Every player relishes personal achievements!! Well I would say most of the players are. But for most of them (non-Indian), team comes first.
It's all about attitude, man. People surprised when he mentioned that, that is why media used it too. That is not the Sachin they used to know. This also meant that, he was not a man of great character. 4. Sachin desired to open. Well, it is not upto him to decide. Otherwise we wouldn't need a coach or a captain. Tell him to respect the team and people who have more responsibility of the team, than him.
Everything is fine in this world, but when you are supposed to be part of a team, it's different. Everything is fine when you are sitting in your own home, not when you are at work.

Mr DTR Well your thoughts and what you present doesn't make you above average Indian. The way you have presented your thoughts against Sachin seems as if Sachin slapped you on your face. If an individual is given a task, the individual knows his abilities and responds with the amount of time he will require to complete it. And so does Sachin if he says he wants to open the innings. For past 10 years Sanath Jaysurya has been opening for Sri Lanka. No one in his country opposed and even the changing captains never moved him from the opening slot, same goes with Adam Gilchrist and Saeed Anwar, then why with Sachin. You must be working in a company; you must have always worked with the thought of betterment of the company; haven't you ever desired or wanted to achieve personally, for your own name and acknowledgement. Well Sachin did the same thing by expressing his thoughts for not reaching 200 milestone. The who cares attitude that you have shown is not what an Indian shows. Democracy allows him to express his thoughts and feelings. Brian Lara scored 500 runs in a Test Match; WI drew that match. Hmmm makes me think he was not playing for team. People like you disgrace your own self by writing "stupid cricket fans". It shows your character. I agree that performance of India in world cup was pathetic and sad for Indian cricket fans. But blaming by name is not correct. Lastly to you Mr. DTR, think about this one "In your whole life have you brought name to your country in any aspect (I know you have not). If not, then i expect from you to give a thought for what Sachin has done for India and cricket as a whole. He hasn't killed someone for the type of criticism you have shown".

U did the same mistake that the writer of article did i.e focussing on particular sentence than whole context.
1)First point: u already mentioned the answer. Not sufficient player at present.
2)second point, its subjective issue.
3)third I don't think team comes second for sachin. Out of 200 innings if he gave importance to his century in one inning, after feeling that team is well placed, I don't think it is too bad. I also watched the match and felt that sachin shud not have played so slow at the end. But u can't judge the man by just mistake of 30 minutes. Nobody in the world remains perfect all the time. If he gave preference to team in his entire career and gave preference to his inning in just one session of one match then I can't say he is selfish. ppl shud be judged by their average behaviour not by some exceptions. Suppose u r a nice child of ur parent. U always behave properly and once in a life u misbehave with them. That one incident of wrong behaviour cannot make u a bad child. Its general behavior that is important not the exceptions. I feel that in that inning sachin gave preference to himself but I see that as exception.
4) 4th point: whatever u said is right but I didn't denied that. Of course sachin did whatever team wanted him to do. But u can not stop sb desire. What sb desire or like is one thing and what sb actually do is other. Sachin is ok if he desire to open. But in reality he respected the team preference and bat down the order.

If after one bangladesh match they became villein then whats the problem if they become hero again after one series.
You people in media are covering and exaggerating the events that have happened in the recent past in Indian cricket just to benefit your self.
It is real shame on the media for having stooped to such low levels to keep up their TRP's, circulations and hit rates.
Why is it that you are not willing to give enough coverage to other sports, because you belive those will not attract readership and viewership. You people just want to cash upon the psyche of the mass and show as if you are doing something great for the society.
Count the number of articles, television shows that you have written about cricket and the number of articles that you have written about other sports.
Any cricket player who plays even one match becomes a national hero thanks to you guys.
Why dont you highlight and make stars of of other games like hockey, football, chess, shuttle and improve the standard of these games.
The petty mindness and financial considerations of media is the only reason behind the unneccessary hype and making mortal cricket players look like extraordinary and out of the world.
In the last 3 days all channels have been hell bent on showing news about cricket and only cricket, as if there is nothing else in the world to report. I am sure the same will continue for the next few days...
Cricket is after all a game and nothing more, it is not in anyway going to improve the quality of our life or going to address the major issues that our country faces.
Allow this game to be just a game and nothing more...
And you people in the media, wake up... there are more vital burning issues that we face, address them first with priority and act like real journalists without trying to play and benefit on the psyche of the common man...
P.S I dont have anything against media infact I have been a part of one of the country's leading media group. It is the feeling that we are deviating from the real purpose and essence of journalism that pains me.
You are the conscience of the society, please be more responsible and devote your time and energy to things that are of far more significance than on petty issues like cricket...
Wake up... There are better things that you people can do...

Imagine Sachin giving a PEP talk to the team with his shrill voice that will be one hilarious situation in the dressing room. Agree that Tendulkar is a genius. But he has not and will not make a good captain.
1. Drop Suckrav Gaandgooli now!!! That guy is worthless, unathletic, lethargic and plays politics. He is a team/morale-killer!!!
2. Forbid the centrally contracted cricketers from having any other source of income that exploits theier presence in Team BCCI.
3. Retain Dravid as captain. Dont even think of making Sachin the captain. He is one of the most unimaginative captains ever. So predictable. Remember Jayasuriya-Mahanama mammoth partnership!! That happened under his belt. And Team BCCI lost on Indian soil for the first time in many decades to SA under him. I was at that match - the one just before Cronjegate. He was still unimaginative.
4. Ban Agarkar for life. He has had his chances and never came up big. Pick young fast bowlers and dont be a team that depends on three spinners with 8 men around the bat appealing for everything. That does not work outside India. Make pitches that reward fast bowlers and not darpok batsmen like Ganguly.
5. Pick athletic and fit players for one dayers. Players who can run singles, rotate strike and field well. For tests go with cricketing skill.
6. Have one TEST team for all of India but then have four one day teams. If England, Ireland, Scotland and Holland can field 11 players with less than 1/2 of our population then we can slo field four teams - South, West, North and Esat-Central. That way criket will become more local and also give oppurtunities to many more people.
1. Ganguly has an average of 65 in his last 10 ODIs. How will you drop him?
2. This is a democractic country not a dictatorship. Noone can restrict anyone else. If you do side business, will your employer be able to forbid that business?
3. HA HA HA. Dravid is the most unimaginative captain i have ever seen. He didn't have any views of his own. Sachin is the best man to lead India out of this mess.
4. Agarkar has been best Indian bowler for last one year. His stats are 25 ODIs, 36 wickets, avg 27 and ER 4.57. How can you ban the best performing bowler of last one year?
5. We had Kaif and Raina. Did it help? For a good team, foremost we need good batsmen and bowlers. Rest comes later or as a bonus.
6. This is a stupid and unrealistic suggestion. Be real and talk practically ratheer than anything that comes to your mind.
Did we win anything major? NO. In fact he was so slow that the other team liked to keep him at the crease. No singles, no rotatimng strike, giving up his wicket at wrong time, atrocious filding, playing politics. Why keep him?
2. This is a democractic country not a dictatorship. Noone can restrict anyone else. If you do side business, will your employer be able to forbid that business?
Exactly this is a democrcay. BCCI is a private organization. If acting in ADs is deemed to be bad, they can ban it. Its their product. BCCI gets its money from US - the paying public who are pissed that prima-donnas are making money for doing NOTHING. It is in BCCis interest to keep us happy.
3. HA HA HA. Dravid is the most unimaginative captain i have ever seen. He didn't have any views of his own. Sachin is the best man to lead India out of this mess.

Adding to this list, throw shewag out of team for ever. Teach harbajan a lesson, dhoni should be repalced with dinesh karthik. Should ask MRF foundation for some good fast bowlers.
We are back to the days of Politics and money which is trademark of Mumbai cricketers. May be the author forgot of mentioning that the meeting is being organized by another Mumbaiker, Ravi Shastri, whom even Mumbaikars had to throw out of the team.
Pretty soon the entire team will again be from Mumbai as in 70s / 80s and now no one will be bothered on their performance. We should not be surprised if Vinod Kambli comes back !!!!

Get life Murali .. Dial a helpline .. and dont sulk .. else you will join the esteemed author.
he khalifas were once rightly described by Australia's former captain Steve Waugh, who was surprised to see that these Indian players never carried their kit bag from the bus to the dressing room. He may have reasoned that if such players can't carry their own bags, how they can do hard work on the ground. This kind of behaviour would not have been tolerated by any professional coach.
We admit - he is no longer the Sachin we knew until 2-3 years back - he is no longer the best batsman in the world. - his reflexes are slower, thanks to so many injuries/surgeries. - To sum up he is probably just about 60-70% of his earlier self.
But the fact remains - even 60% of Sachin is still better than most others in the current team or domestic circuit.
And if there is someone better than him with real promise in the domestic circuit let him earn his place in the side, Sachin never got it for free. Let someone atlest knock the door.
We had Raina, Kaif, Gambhir, Uthhapa, Jaffer but no one really set the stage on fire.
The truth is our expectation bar from Sachin is more. So when he performs average we cannot handle it, if he performs really well...then thats what we expect.. so what etc.
Find a good replacment, then drop sachin.
If i were the administrators i will not 'drop', but perhaps 'rest' him for a series or two like for Bangladesh series, allow him to get some time alone and then give him one more chance. This solution should satisfy most if not everyone.
