Tendulkar will bounce back
by sameer naik on Apr 06, 2007 12:27 AM

We admit
- he is no longer the Sachin we knew until 2-3 years back
- he is no longer the best batsman in the world.
- his reflexes are slower, thanks to so many injuries/surgeries.
- To sum up he is probably just about 60-70% of his earlier self.

But the fact remains
- even 60% of Sachin is still better than most others in the current team or domestic circuit.

And if there is someone better than him with real promise in the domestic circuit let him earn his place in the side, Sachin never got it for free.
Let someone atlest knock the door.

We had Raina, Kaif, Gambhir, Uthhapa, Jaffer but no one really set the stage on fire.

The truth is our expectation bar from Sachin is more. So when he performs average we cannot handle it, if he performs really well...then thats what we expect.. so what etc.

Find a good replacment, then drop sachin.

If i were the administrators i will not 'drop', but perhaps 'rest' him for a series or two like for Bangladesh series, allow him to get some time alone and then give him one more chance.
This solution should satisfy most if not everyone.
