Indian cricket - Game or Business
by ROHAN JUDE on Apr 04, 2007 10:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Players are not concentrating on game....their concentration is on money....they dont worry whether they win or loss coz anyway they are getting the money...they start their career from a middle/lower class level and ends up in Millionnaire castle...loads of business organisation, fleets of cars, mansions, millions.............and much more!!

Mr. Jude you got to understand in todays world every thing is about money....every thing...
Cricket is not like football or basketball where players get paid from club they play for....
BCCI earns a lot money becoz of these players...They pay em peanut,so Players who r successful get to do ads for different companies but only when they are successful....The work very hard to get there & then 2 stay there.....If they dont perform they r not in team that means no more endorsments,no more Money.

it is business... it is not indian cricket... it is just a cricket playing organization in india... we should look it as a business, so that we won't hurt our emotions each and every time ;-)

What Next...?!?
by Shobhit Bajaj on Apr 04, 2007 10:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Given the current state of discussions around the cricket team's dismal performance, wonder if Chappell was too good for the players...!
That said, how is the Indian cricket community going to find a suitable replacement...?!?

That said too, how many of us truly really care anymore...!?!

Thank you for Leaving

Thank you chappel for all the good work of disintegrating Indian team in just 22 months.Your periodical systematic methodical coaching took the team which played finals in last world cup to exit with just a win with Bermuda. We all Indians are thankful to you for the man hours saved because of your great coaching. We do remember and appreciate the way you killed the careers of the Indian greats like Sourav,Sachin, shewag,Pathan,Kumble ...You have done great service to your country by killing Indian team.
Why dont you ask Indian govt to confer bharat Ratna on you for saving man hours and sleepless nights to Indian people.....

What killing of spirit you are talking about? the fellows never won any great tournaments convincingly! even in the last world cup they somehow sneaked into the super 8, only this time they could not. It is not losing we are bothered about, but losing without putting up a fight. You dont need an australian coach to break our team, it is our own inconsistencies, lack of fitness, walking into world cup behaving as if we just need to stand there in the ground for the cup to walk into our hands that did us in. Let us, indian fans, also take the blame for inflating the egos of the players who are not even anywhere near the bulky player of Ireland as far as the fielding is concerned.

Seniors should follow!
by Juzer H on Apr 04, 2007 10:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All the senior players should follow Kumble and Chappel. That's what respectful people do, and must do.

Seniors doing things on the instructions of their Agents is nothing less than the evil of match fixing.

It is time to do the clean-up act.
It is time to take tough decisions.
It is time to think about India's prestige.

intelligent Greg
by sanjeev on Apr 04, 2007 10:17 PM  Permalink

At least one person in the Indian team is intelligent, that is Greg Chappell. Before BCCI could kick him out, he opted to go out with respect by kicking the the job offered to him by BCCI. What else he could have done, bhais ke saamne basuri? I wish that other players in the Indian cricket team will realize their mistake and follow the same rather than defending their mistakes and egoistic nature. The more these players are seen in the Indian team, they will humiliate them self and also they humiliate the country.

Chappel's resignation
by shaiju antony on Apr 04, 2007 10:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Those who all feel sorry for chappel are really dumb indians. The way we people react is so shameful. We are so emotional. Till now chappel was bad. Now that he has resigned, he has become a good man. Shame on us. Its Chappel himself who is responsible for the sorry state of indian cricket. We cant blame the seniors. Any person whose job is threatened, will feel insecure. When they were doing well, why meddle with their batting order. Giving chances to youngsters is good, but the seniors too should be accomodated properly. After all they too have done their bit for the game. What chappel is doing is just plain politics. First he had issues with ganguly, then with the rest of the team. He is blaming every other person in the team to save his own skin. He can be a good politician instead of a good coach. Anyway my best wishes to him for the future. Don't blame Sachin for Indian teams failure. India is not a one man team. There are 10 other players who earn money and play the game. They should be held equally responsible. Sachin only had two bad games and India went out. If we see the matches preceding it, he had scored runs. Its not always possible to score a ton in all the one day matches. If Sachin had been a foreign cricketer, we would have always admired him idolised him and would have criticised him less. Thats the psyche of we indians. There is no escaping from the fact.

Sachin has become a selfish cricketer offlate and he is playing only for his benefit. We should stop glorifying him for his past deeds and take a look at his consistancy. He is past his prime time and he should leave the game.

Other senior players are having a feeling that they are indispensible and became overconfident. They think they are quite capable of hitting the ball for six or four and lost the ability to milk runs in the way of singles. Impressive lads like Kaif and Raina were unfortunately left out.

Agree with one of your statements - "Shame on us". Certainly shame on you.
Chappel was never bad. He tried to make indian sportsstars spotspersons nad was outcast by them. Half of the team should be in the commentry box and not on the cricket ground.
Still I feel that Greg is lucky. Atleast he is going back alive.

hello kush sir... He has indeed said - "I am grateful to the players with whom I have worked in this time for the challenges that they presented me with and which I tried to meet in a professional, methodical and interesting way in the interests of the team and the individual.". Do you expect him to mention each of the players name here? or do you want him to say comments on the players. Come on... grow up.
