I have great respect to the entire Chappell family's contribution. They have played their Cricket the profesionl way and I admire them. Critisim is welcome but not insult.
Our Cricketers are considering themselves just next to the Gods. Their present status has changed their life style. I doub't whether they sweat and stink as before they were successful and lack zero "killer instinct" because of this. Cricket is bigger than these demi-gods so respect it, and talk in terms of Cricket only not Sachin, Rahul, Shewag & Co.

That's right Ram. Yeaterday one of the news channels, Madan Lal mentioned that "our players are stars first then cricketers. It is difficult to handle stars than the cricketers. Greg didn't know how to handle the stars". It seems true.

Dear...
We all need to understand about our star status players. The big 3 you can call. Sachin, Sourav and Rahul. See the records and you can know, who has played for the country and who has played for their records. If you see at any instance, Rahul was and is a team man, who obeyed to any kind of work given to him and he is the man in crisis. Dont you think so? But poor indian media, never really talks about peaople thouse who deserve it.... The other two, though are great and stylish players, never really played for the country.
Greg Chappell was left with little option. It was becoming a hopeless situation.
Woolmer(RIP), Whatmore and Moody were lesser players. Whatmore and Moody are having less stress and thank God they did not fall into the cauldron of Indian cricket. They should be counting their graces. Greg Chappell could have misjudged the psyche of the Indian team, media and cricket frenzy crowds.
We expect miracles from our heros who have feet of clay the moment they find themselves in unfamiliar territory - fast, seaming, and bouncy wickets. They are good only in our friendly made to order ones with 60000 people who work themselves to a frenzy. The visitors obviously cannot perform in our searing heat and dust. So we still have our chance.
For the future of Indian cricket, it does not matter who the players or the coaches are. It is more important whether we learn anything from these debacles.
Sri Lanka is very impressive with superstars like Murali and Jayasuriya contributing with others. Mind you, they were much lower ranked than India few years ago and has a population less than Kerala. I would dare say a second eleven Sri Lanka and of course Australia with eqaual population can easily defeat most of the teams in World Cup including India. Such is their talent. Whatever has happenned to ours. We cannot seem to have anybody to replace our ageing stars.
Let us stop the namecalling and look ahead.Let cool heads (if there are) take over rather than hot ones who come at you with arms swinging wildly if any suggestion, however politely is given that some people seem to be past their sell by date. Sometimes not bad, as these take the process of total detoxification. Bangla Desh has tasted Indian blood and I think they will go for our jugular in future. They look very hungry indeed.
Ponting was asked about the stataus of world cup as both "super stars" India & Pakistan were knocked out. His answer was cryptic - let us congratulate Bangla Desh and Ireland -India & Pakistan played badly and they deserved to lose.
If we do not take proper steps it can turn out to be like hockey. We were the top. Now we hear in the news -India lost to South Korea 0-2, earlier they lost to Malaysia by the same margin and hence they do not qualify for the next round. We continue with our breakfast without batting an eye lid. Emotions cannot solve the problems unless backed by solid actions.
Sachin Tond-dhul-kar you should know to yourselves that when you feel that your performance is lacking in day-to-day life then thats the warning signal to "Hang". Unfortunetly there is no Viagra in Cricket :(

Mr. Ajay
Do you think Sachin is proud of we Indians. Did you know what he says, the people are criticizing and not supporting us with knowing what they are going through. This statement by him shows how mean he is.
Secondly, you said there is lack of proper coaching and guidance. Do you think, at this point of time, even people like Sachin require Coaching and guidance. They are matured enough to help themselves out.

Do our senior players need guidence, proper coaching?
My blood boils when i see politicians meddling with an institution like BCCI which was built long ago with professionals. Now it has become another parliementary committee with bunch of crooks sitting and telling us what they wanna do or what they will be going to do with their political speeches. If you have shame please leave BCCI to professionals.

When will we people realize our importance in making a policitian/sportsperson. We create stars and superstars. If we can create heros, we can also make them zeros. So first we need to change. Till then we people can only, boil our blood and what things slip out of our hands.
whoever is right or wrong, senior players or coaching team if india got into super 8 will public know all these..unfotunate situation for everybody but the indian [cricket] phoenix will rise !
Welldone Greg! In India, in most professions, be it either education or at work, a senior behaves like God and juniors need to be bending and bowing down to get good name and get our work done. This goes on for generations....This carries on in cricket as well. But, u dont see this in working conditions abroad. Everyone behaves equally with everyone. Every one, senior or junior, is acknowledged only based on performances and skills. So, we can understand why australians, irrespective of senior or juniors perorm as a team. adn why Indians cant. The attitude of sachin or agarkar was even seen with gavaskar and ravishastri earlier. So, now, we can understand why Greg must have found the dressing room different from that of Australian dressing room. When he tried to change the system, there has been a revolt from seniopor players , which has been burning all these months. Greg has been straight forward and that is why he could come up with the truth that seniopr p[layers attitude is different. Can u expect sachin/saurav/agarjkkr to take up military type of training ffor fitness, which Greg tried to introduce? Can u expect them to field. It is a sin to ask sachin to run behind a ball or try a matchsaving run-out. He will only do what he wants. So is the same with other seniors. So, how do you expect equality amongst all 11 players when one is treated as a God? Good that Greg resigned. He will be happy coaching anyother team with no politics/sponsor pressuried players/BCCI. All the best Greg. You had the guts to bring out the truth that selection is under pressure from sponsors and politics and not based on performances. Long live Sachion with his next 180 crore contract for next three years.

my friend, its not maharashtrian team there in the world cup.Itwas Indian team representing the country.howmuchever you guys are educated and successful, your viewpoint is so selfish about nationality.even bengalis were so happy with the performance of their hero when he was at his career low. my hats off to GREG for he is the only one question these heroes attitude and responsibility.
Greg has nothing to loose, he will be merrily going around the world coaching some other team-But what happens to the Indian team after this? Which coach will come froward after all these cheap tricks played by the U S E L E S S PLAYERS?
If they cant perform then its their problem? Whats wrong if Greg wanted junior players into the team? How long do you expect all the old fellows to remain in the team?
If you want all the old players in the team then why not get in players like Kapil Dev, Ravi Shastri, Gavaskar etc etc....
The treatment given by the Indians to Greg for dreaming about a better Indian cricket is shamefull.
Today my head bends in SHAME FOR BEING A INDIAN!
SHAME ON YOU INDIANS!

Someone needs a reality check. To start with, India's growth rate is 9 and by that rate we are supposed to overtake China by 2025. If US pulls out their jobs, its the bloody US that will be the loser, not us. Nobody is doing us a favor.
Its Indians like you because of whom we are ashamed.

tell me the reason for being proud of India.. Whats the achievements of India... Come out of the shell and have a good look at India and then tell me if you are proud to be a INDIAN.
Look at the countries which were not even on the map or just represents a dot on the map and look at the way they are growing... what are you doing in India .. Switch on the news in India..what is that you hear... That fellow said this on him...this fellow took this much bribe...this fellow hit that fellow with a mic in the parliment, etc etc etc
Its good to be patriotic... but only if the country is worth to be.

A country is known by its people , their growth, development and not just by boundaries. Are you being any part in this development. You are like parasites so long as you are feeding happy, moment you have some pain, you start complaining

To put things in perspective, don't count the Indian workforce only with respect to IT sector. IT sector accounts for less than 1% of the total workforce in India. So, even if US pulls out (at it's own peril!!), only the IT professional would be hit, and not the broader workforce.

The question is can American companies pull out. Where will they get their workforce? If Americans can get workforce elsewhere they are the last ones to come so far to India. This means India has something to offer.Probably if Americans boycotted India then companies like Microsoft, Autodesk etc might just close down. India is a self sufficient country, we have our resources. Yes we also engage in global trade, but they are not the force behind our survival. We can sustain ourselves even without a single support from elsewhere. People who say they are ashamed of their country are probably the biggest reasons for their country's present condition. It is easy to be ashamed,it does not require any will power or caliber, try to be proud of your country and you will find that you need a lot of strength, dedication and sincerity to do that, which probably you do not have. You will always be ashamed where ever you are because where ever you go people will treat you like a stanger except in India.Remember he who stands for nothing falls for anything. I pity your condition. Just a small game of cricket which probably 80% of the world doesn't even play or understand has become the reason to vent out your feelings of being ashamed of your country. I wonder when India comes up in another few years what SHE will have to say to citizens like you. God help you.
I am and will always be a proud Indian even though my country is branded by others to be the worst in the world

which reasons i think the reasons you are talking about are AIDS, population, poverty, riots, pollution, bribery, scandals, caste discrimination and the list is long/
Tendulkar's record speaks for itself : Sachin Tendulkar since Sept 2005 against Australia and SA in one day matches Innings : 11 Runs : 155 Average : 14.09 100s/50s : 0/1
No other team in the world would pick him on the above performance but for India he is "Master Blaster". BTW what has be blasted recently ?
As far as Ganguly is concerned, he could not even match Tendulkar''s number....and WOW we have countrymen defending these two and giving excuses for them. This guy spoke against you coz he could not bat....boooooohooooooooo bloody greedy indian cricketers.

Its like this - when we are young between 18-22yrs a dude can perform faster and speedier on the bed. Around 22-30yrs the performance comes down by 20%. And between 30-40 a dude will play singles and between 40 - 50 thats a male menopause area. What i mean to say is instead of saying "I can play the next world cup - Sochin Tond-dhul-kar (face-clean-kar). He should hang his gloves and start training young budding India. What more is Sachin waiting to achieve??? What more does he want by sticking around in the team??? Why can he retire and allow younger player to play for India??
Is he waiting just to earn some money??? What what cost?
Or, Is he waiting for time when selectors KICK him out of the team?? Waiting for a shameful exit?

Sachin Should retire. Sehwag should sit out and wait for return of form Ganguly is still a valuable player (over sachin) Kumble prooved why he is called intellegent cricketer. Dhoni is an over rated player. I donno why we make somebody superstar so soon. Yuvraj..Atitude, Greg rightly said he thinks himself a superstar... Still he is a valuable player minus his attitude. Uthappa... same case as Dhoni Dinesh karthik... poor chap. Should be given chance. Kaif... poor.... no below poverty chap. Harbhajan/Irfan... Success going in head. Dravid... should leave captaincy... and stick to maintaining his WALL trademark.
