Hat off Greg
by Priya Jay on Apr 05, 2007 04:02 AM

Welldone Greg! In India, in most professions, be it either education or at work, a senior behaves like God and juniors need to be bending and bowing down to get good name and get our work done. This goes on for generations....This carries on in cricket as well. But, u dont see this in working conditions abroad. Everyone behaves equally with everyone. Every one, senior or junior, is acknowledged only based on performances and skills. So, we can understand why australians, irrespective of senior or juniors perorm as a team. adn why Indians cant. The attitude of sachin or agarkar was even seen with gavaskar and ravishastri earlier. So, now, we can understand why Greg must have found the dressing room different from that of Australian dressing room. When he tried to change the system, there has been a revolt from seniopor players , which has been burning all these months. Greg has been straight forward and that is why he could come up with the truth that seniopr p[layers attitude is different. Can u expect sachin/saurav/agarjkkr to take up military type of training ffor fitness, which Greg tried to introduce? Can u expect them to field. It is a sin to ask sachin to run behind a ball or try a matchsaving run-out. He will only do what he wants. So is the same with other seniors. So, how do you expect equality amongst all 11 players when one is treated as a God? Good that Greg resigned. He will be happy coaching anyother team with no politics/sponsor pressuried players/BCCI. All the best Greg. You had the guts to bring out the truth that selection is under pressure from sponsors and politics and not based on performances.
Long live Sachion with his next 180 crore contract for next three years.
