To all indian Team
by jitendra mehta on Apr 04, 2007 07:28 PM  Permalink

Now the episode of world Cup was over and also the contraversy regarding the coach. Now indian team should do the brain storming and take a lesson out of this and go forward with the same. I hope india will perform better in the near future.
With best wishes
Jitendra

With a greedy bunch of old paper tiger superstars like Ganguly, Tendulkar and their cronies? You are a sad pathetic idol worshipping (Of the cricket heros kind) moron. The name of the game has changed my dear. You have to throw yourself on the field to win. These guys cant do that and so there is no light for indian cricket.

This Was Expected
by Sukhiraj Shetty on Apr 04, 2007 07:23 PM  Permalink

This was expected sooner or later... It is sad to end this way.. key takeaways are 1)India needs a Indian coach who understand indian culture, processes and politics in business, the last one is critical without which one cannot survive and the same happened to Greg b)BCCI should be run professionals who have been in sports business and not by politicians and administrators who have never played sports or have vested interest c)In a way corporate India is also responsible for making use of sportsmen for personal gains which inturn impacts players performance d) The zonal selection method needs to be scrapped. Greg is a great player and coach but somehow his style of functioning did not go well with India but it will certainly produce results in Australia. I wish Guru Greg all the best

Thanks highway man for all that you have done.
Split apart an united team.
Destroyed a strong leadership.
Played games at all levels with all a sundry.
Now when the ship is sinking you like a true rat deserted it first.
Swine you made your money and left my nation bleeding in shame.
The agenda that the Australia board had sent you for you far exceeded their expectation.
But pray also carry your chamchas like that ass More and Dravid the eternal Uncle Tom.

my paul,
you shd also understand that when dravid become captain, he also started making less score.. captancy is not drinking tea in irony cafe...
also if ganguly didnt bat slow against bermuda..india would allout with that situation... dont just talk non-sense... see estimate, analyze abt the things, then talk...

Quiting of Greg
by Kiran Patil on Apr 04, 2007 07:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

he should be selected as couch. since last world cup our team was not kept in good condition, daily unstability made by changing player till before 2 months of world cup 2007.it is vey much straight that no team in world will keep this R&D work of changing people in team till before 2 month of cup.Probabilty this seams to be very high level politic being held internationally to keep India team unstable. you can see result of Saurav after comming back & by keeping sevevag in team even tho he was fail.

It is totally wrong what Greg did. His way of actions were wrong. He is a total dominator, hence the problem is all about. It is good that he has quit now.

The Mafia sends greg packing
by Kabadan Y on Apr 04, 2007 07:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The mafia is very powerful and knows how to strike a death blow to Indian cricket. It is not greg who has ruined the Indian cricket but the mafia of senior players. They will never allow this country to evolve in a process oriented approach. God only knows how many more years we need to suffer bcos of this bunch of old gorillas!

Dude You should know what you are talking for. If you have a power it doesn't mean you are the boss. You should be part of team not dominator. Every time there is a controversy Greg is the center of attraction. It looks he is the only couch who is having problem.

Greg should never coach any cricket team- he should now become a cook rather than coach
by PAWAN SAXENA on Apr 04, 2007 07:20 PM  Permalink

Guru greg was appointed for the preparation and aim for India to win the World cup but his coaching of the team could not survive for only even 3 Games. He has spoiled the spirit of the Indian team and he is afraid of the criticism. we Wish and appeal to all the countries that he should not coach any team in the world and it will be better for him to sit and relax

It was inevitable
by Sandeep Ram on Apr 04, 2007 07:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was always heading this way . Whatever the position the board would have taken , it would not have been good for anybody concerned had the same group of people continued to work together.

What this shows is how our players have managed to cement their positions . They have attacked chappel like a pack of wolves just because he tried to bring in professional ethics and did not make exceptions about Ganguly or Tendulkar .

Perhaps the person most relieved is sourav - who has manged to not only make a comeback on merit - for which he has to be lauded - but he has managed to get a group of players who have underperformed like him in the past - Zaheer and Yuvraj - and are currently underperforming - Sehwag and Harbhajan . This "mafia" is the one which has undermined both the captain and the coach .

As if all this was not enough , we have the ingnonimity of having to see the greatest batsman of our country push himself into the controversy by making candid confessions - the timing of which is very suspect .

Chappel brought all under performers under pressure and instead of pulling their socks up and giving us their best , the players dislodged the man himself. ..what a pity.

All this nonsense that the media reports about cultural difference is a non-issue . To add fuel to the fire , the media keeps hounding the persons involved and made a mountain out of a mole. The media has to take a good share of the blame as do the players and the board.

A sad sad day . It shows the inefficiency and politics in Indian cricket . What a shame . I am ashamed to call myself a fan of Indian cricket . From the outside this appears like a well orchestrated plan to remove chappel and for that I totally sympathise with Chappel.

If for nothing else , the Indian Cricketers didn't deserve to win the world cup because they are mafia who have commited this henious act ..shame on them ..shame ...

Mr Sachin Tendulkar ,,, Now is the time for you too to announce your retirement. No body wants to see ur heroics( against Kenya , Zim etc) any further as it has hardly won us crucial matches... Now surely the pressure is on you to quit after Greg.
