not yet over .............
by shankar kovai on Apr 04, 2007 08:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This was expected, because the board will send him back. Now the question is,whether all the non-performing players will do the same?
I expect SACHIN,SEHWAG,SOURAV should resign.
LET US SEE WHAT OUR FORMER COACH HAS MENTIONED IN HIS REPORT.
My HUMBLE REQUEST TO BCCI IS
1.Don't think you have escaped from taking tough decision.
2.Analyse what is necessary for Team's intrest.
3.Don't allow senoirs to dominate as they are now. They are representing me,we and india. They are expected to show commitment.
4.ONE THING WHAT CHAPPEL HAS DONE IS HE SHOWED THE REAL FACE OF INDIAN CRICKET,WE SHOULD ACCEPT THAT.THESE SENOIR PLAYERS WILL NEVER PERFORM UNDER PRESSURE oR WHEN NEEDED.

Goodbye Greg
by sp on Apr 04, 2007 08:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The problem with India is that we are never used to a face off. We like to beat around the bush. Chappell gets straight to the point and we are not able to face it. Chappell is a very good coach but if he is not considered a team memmber by the Indian team and try to make their own decision , there's nothing much left to say. Everyone talks about the 1983 World cup and everyone chants 1983..1983...1983... , Open your eyes and think abt team Australia who have won it 3 times in a row and hopefully their 4th time this year. In My Opinion . India has not won fully on its own merit in the 1983. Remember in 1983 , in a later series , India was beaten badly by the WI in the series that was played. How do you expect a whole team to be out of form ? Its a shame to say so. One or two players may be out of form but the fact that any 11 member that are supposed to play in the world cup go out of form quickly suggests the quality of players that we have. We have thrown mud on ourselves literally.Indian coaches are not good enough for the team and any other foreign coach would think twice before coaching India considering what has happened. we will have 20 people making decisions for the team and the very motive of playing is killed. How long before the Indian team gets into form is another unanswered question. Should India even play cricket is for the other users to decide, in the meanwhile goodbye greg ,we will miss you.

I am sorry to say that i am sure the whole of India will agree with me in saying that we will not miss Greg Chapell. He may be a brilliant individual but he has not proved to be a good coach. When he took over as coach we had a team which was performing much better than it is now. There are many mistakes u can see in his coaching. First and foremost was his decision to get Gangulay and Zaheer dropped see how well they have bounced back after being recalled. I feel he is the main reaon for the position Irfan Pathan is now totally destroyed in confidence. All in all we shall not MISS GREG CHAPELL AT ALL GOD HELP THE TEAM HE DECIDES TO COACH NOW

Please read the statistics before after Chappell made it as the coach. Indi was performing worse than what it is at present. Players are not decided by the coach. If it was ,Chappell would have been free to choose young talent in the team. Irfan pathan doesnt have good action and is erratic.

I agree with SP. One bit of criticism and Sachin is all out in the open , losing the so called dignified silence of 17 years.
Why, because no one dares citicise a superstar. Go Sachin. I am ashamed of your behaviour.

Vijay I somehow related to from BCCI, otherwise he will not call Saurav's and Zaheers as bouncing back.. playing in indian soil, not scoring when needed.. playing too slow for himself and not for the team is not called as bauncing back. If politics is removed right from the group stage to ranji to national level, there will be atleast 10 Aussie teams in the Youth of India

Great Chappell truly great man.All our players be ashamed of your show.Always keep in mind you are playing in the field for crores of Indians. You should not just play for Ad sake or for Greg Chappell. When one is talking about attitude then there is real problem in the team. Thanks Chappell for bringing this out. Thanks great man.Last question how's that all 6 batsmen can fail in a team and complain about the coach, sheer stupidity.

Well, Finally there you are....1st scape goat for the World Cup debacle...THE COACH, who did not perform (I pity Greg, he should have padded up and gone to bat for our Country to score a few runs against Sri Lanka), as that is what the whole crowd is expecting...The Coach has not performed.

Now, whoz next scapegoat in the line ?

Bye Greg
by Paul Rufus on Apr 04, 2007 08:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I know many of u ( perticulary in Kolkatta and Mumbai ) will be very pleased with todays devolopment. But as an Indian, I am sad and confused we have so many superstars and money why our team is not doing well. Our success ratio is just over 50%. We donot have the guts to drop our players they keep on playing regardless of their perfomance.
Ravi Shastri and Kapil Dev were literally thrown out only Gavasker made a dignified exit.
This year we have to play Aussies some 20 times, I request all our so called stars to make an exit today, their will be still some dignity. But tom it will be too late ( Assies will kill u

It is not the Kolkatans or Mumdaikars to be happy after Greg's resignation, when a team is performed so badly the coach should be ousted. The same Indian team played well against other teams. So bye Greg and welcome anyone. No one will be as bad as Greg.
