First of all Sachin in his 17 years as a cricketer playing for Indian team was never insecured of his position in the team hence he had never bad mouthed earlier. Now suddenly he is showing his frustration and talking to media bcos he knows that his position is insecure and now he is trying to take public sympathy by passing the buck. Boss if you have not performed than accept it like champion why SULK and bad mouth in media. Now it is a good time for sachin you to join politics as he knows how to use media to his benefit.

Unprofessional Sachin
by Kidney Brother on Apr 05, 2007 10:32 AM  Permalink

Firstly, Sachin should stop nonsense and admit honestly that he has failed, and failed miserably.
Why blame coach for his Sachin's non-performance.

The senior players should be kicked on their b*** telling them to concentrate on their play rather than acting in advertisements.

Pathetic Sachin - You have stooped so low that you are voicing comment in media just to gain public sympathy. Pooo......

Attack is the best form of defence
by Anurag Shrivastava on Apr 05, 2007 10:30 AM  Permalink

Sachin is supremely talented but his form of batting needs very high level of hand-eye coordination which does not get better with age especially against talented opposition. Gavaskar on the other hand was far more successful against the West Indian and Australlian fast bowling greats on THEIR fast pitches because he had the right technique and depended less on luck to get a sho through. Sachin may have been hurt by comment on his commitment - but anyone who lives on past glory to justify one's position in current dispensation despite poor performance against opposition and occasions that matter , is perhaps showing commitment only to oneself. Not to the team. Not to the country. Indians being emotional people will always lap such sob stories - perhaps Sachin's highly paid media managers advised him to do so. Its easy to make an aggressive Gora a scapegoat before the judgement day.

The happenings post the world cup exit reveal what was so obvious a long time ago but no one wanted to see or ack it..Its a all about momey. The new committe of the BCCI on taking overspoke only of the momey they would generate...The players generate more money in sponsership than in playing fees.It is only natural that the sponsors ensure that the players they are intrested in remain in the team. How ?.Obviously money. The time is right to do some house cleaning now.The reght place to start is the BCCI..its selection procedure..ways of functioning and accountablity.Next is the selection committe. This regional quota system has proved to be counterproductive. We need to get proffessional and a bit more scientific. The committe should be transparent and accountable to the nation.next are the players..This aspect needs most attention..we need a well designed, fair code of conduct. All sponsership should be routed thrugh the BCCI.Selestion of players should be done based on their rating..rating based on their preformance which is updated every month. This with a lot of transparancy and accountablity. The rating should be printed on a nominated day of a month. The coach (who ever he be )needs to be enpowered more..to the extent that he has auth to send back a player mid tour in case he is not being a team person or playig well.Senior players should be given their due ... just their due not more, not less.A clear mandate of their auth should be laid down.
Let us not go into mourning over what is happening ..lets be ve and use this oppurtunity to do some heart searching and learn by our past mistakes. We must be honest in our efforts to improve the system.

i dont understand wats goin on ! why so much support for sachin . he might be the worlds highest run getter but he was not in any way helpfull to us... leave alone winning the world cup, but taking us into the super 8 stage. here lies the answer why australia is the number one team ... if ponting or gilchrist dont play well in 4 or 5 matches they are out.NEVER EVER GO BY PAST RECORDS .... indians are used to seeing so many emotional movies that have made them too sentimental ! LET SACHIN, DRAVID, GANGULY OR WHOEVER BE THE GOD OF CRICKET ... IF THEY ARE NOT IN FORM THEY MUST BE CHUCKED OUT !

The crucial moments I am talking about relates to the most important Holy Grail the World cup.
In all the world cups he played he had let down the team in the most crucial period.
For instance
This World Cup - Super 8 qualifications.
Last World cup - Finals.
and so on.
But why should a cricket team depend on only one player. The other ten also are given a bat, pads, gloves, guards, helmet, protective gears, but most important of all an opportunity to represent the country. Why dont they deliver too?

Sachin V/s Chappel
by yuvi raj on Apr 05, 2007 10:29 AM  Permalink

I think saching should be be take retirement from the cricket not only sachin other senior guy's like Dravid, Saurav, now the time has come to re-built our Indian team then only people will watch the cricket match other wise we the people of India will never support this game which was raise the heart beats of Indian. On the other hand i also feel whatever bad happen with Indian team is good for other game like hockey, football etc. I think if we really support these game's we will find more talent and more option then the cricket. We all know that now cricket has become a game for money, fixing and other things i think everybody is involved in these type of rackets whether it's coach or players. Now this time sachin has tried to divert the concentration of Indians from his poor performance in WCcricket to Chappel it shows that how much hungrey he is for money it is right he spent 17 year in cricket but what he had done if he does feels that he is masterblaster or great player then why we didn't won a single world cup since 17 years. I thought every important he was failed whenever he feels pressure he was bowled. Even i don't remember his a single great inning which he won to India.

A team which has Tendulkar in it
by samson lawrence on Apr 05, 2007 10:26 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

and other 10 players that cant deliver when he fails
A country that has over a billion people and more than 75% of it cricket lovers and cant provide 11 good players
It is sad but deserving
That we wll have to listen to more of such meaningless dinosaurshit.
Now let merit get its place
Greg Chappel as coach - Poor records
Niranjan Shah as Administrator - Poor performance
Dilip Vengsarkar as Selector - Poor work
Their performance for this world cup and overall has been bad.
Sachin as Player - This world cup -Poor work
overall - Excellent.
Is there a man of calibre to replace him right now?
No one has proved himself more worthy than him.
So with due respect to Sachin Bashers
You have no credible replacement.
So many times so many people had said Sachin cant be depended on in the most crucial moments then why did BCCI not oversee selecting 10 people who could have tided over that one moment.
Why did we not have 10 players who could overhaul 250 odd runs?
Think with your brains people
Dont blame the lame duck among the blind and dumb for everything.
And let me put it real perspective
The young generation of India today is not man enough, we have seen the debacle in all spheres of life.
You allow moral policing, in the 1970 and 80's it wouldnt have been allowed. You allow casteism and reservations, back then it was on the wane. Perhaps you had too much of pampering, you dont deserve any better.
Wake up.
Be men.
Accept your defeat graciously and get fighting over all that is right (but not bysenseless voilence. Prove yourself if you have the balls.
I dont hear voices on dismantling this BCCI and nationalising it, making it more answerable to the Indian public. This is one limited company only benefitting a limited nuber of people. They can represent us but not answer us.
This has to end. As all evil has to end.
But I dont expect you young peole to have balls so I know all this has been wasted.
Pity India.

GREG WAS RIGHT
by Chinmaya Samal on Apr 05, 2007 10:23 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The performance of Team doesn't depend on coach but depend on each individual's performance. A coach can make a strategy only. He can't do anything if the players don't play in match. And for Team India its being a regular trend that after dismisal they will put the cap on anyone's head.Try to rectify yourself instead of being such.

Then y need a coach? why this is happened only under the coaching of Greg!! why not under Wright??

Because Chappel was not helphing the players to perform well but he mentally disturbing players to lose the concentration. Now just tell me why you need such coach.

It not that only sachin failed but all the players of team india just beacuse of Greg. You replace the players, you need to replace whole team.

And if replace whole team.. Just imagine what has happened to Zimbabwe team. Same thing can be expected from Indian Team!!

So its easy to replace a coach and have a new coach who can encourage the players, who can up the morale of the players.

There ws John wright who could do better with less skilled people than this team.
So greg is not right.
Wrong policies at the wrong moment for wrong people is all wrong.
Tell me did his exprimentation stop even before the world cup?
So what is right about not having a time bound programme?
Players have a mind, if a coach doesnt know that, he is no good coach.
