Both these players were in worst form than the other 3 bowlers we played in WC...(BTW bowlers didnt fail us)
Since india lost///pppl have been calling for heads of players whop played while giving benifit of doubt to Sreesanth and pathan and keeping them in future teams...
THE FACT IS SRISANTH AND PATHAN WERE WORSE THAN others thats why thet desrved to be dropped
dont give benifit of doubt to these guys sreeant and pathan
Mr.Lavakare. You are saying the defeat was expected. Millions and millions of Indian fans are behind the players following them passionately for players who hav given their heart and soul for so many years for Indian cricket wanted to win this World cup.You are saying defeat was expected. You are asking how Chappell is responsible? He didn't even do the basic job of putting the team man together, even a school coach knows how to do that.Players of his stature never get to know that.Every Indian fan knows that the players were not enjoying thier game and not enjoying themselves on the field.A MUST for any sportsman to enjoy being on the field. LOOK at Sehwag,Harbhajan,Tendulkar.....Only players like Zaheer and Ganguly were able to put that beyond them and continue thier cause. BCCI should try and find out why the players are not enjoying and wats going wrong. One thing is very sure, currently the players are in a very bad state of mind and they need support. They are our own players who had given us so much fun and made all of us proud so many times.C'Mon India
almost two years back, you wrote a series of very distasteful and capricious articles denigrating the deposed India skipper Ganguly. I realize that you were taking an early gamble on Greg Chappel, hoping to look really good if he succeeded. However, after watching Chappel's antics for 2 years and seeing him rave and rant at the media, I thought you would come around.
But, no. You continue on your disgraceful path of "native-bashing" to gain the white man's favor. Wake up, Lava. The "British Raj" is over. No "bones" will be thrown to you, for saying "me love you long time..." to the white man.
This is the age of Indian champions... be justly proud of our great achievers.
Games are won /lost every minute of any day. Thats not a big deal. The big deal is that the Indian team looked very "badly coached" and totally lacked "leaderdship" on the field. [check out NBA, NFL, winning NCAA teams to understand what tnbat means.]
You claimed to be an advocate of "performance" and "results" when you stuck your dagger into Ganguly. Why dont you apply the same yardstick to Chappel now? He would even be kicked out of WalMart for his performance.
finally, since you are obsessed about Ganguly, here's my take on the man. Well, he at least is a "man". You know, with cojones. He gave us pride, he united a hitherto fracticidal team.
I dont want to commenton who should stay and who should not, in the Indian team. There are much better people than you or me to decide that. But I am sure about one thing. Greg Chappel is not on here based on Indian patriotic reasons. He is hired help, with a job to do. He failed at his job, so we need to hire someone else.

Greg Chapell or anyone for that matter can only do the job if they are given the team they need. If Seniors gang up against him , what can he do???? First give him what he wnats and then SACK him.
Indian cricketers would like a soft coach like Gaekwad,Wadekar others who will make money from the players.
Why can't you admit that the players also have a job to do??? If Chapell needs to go so also the so called SENIORS..
Can you believe that SACHIN has captaincy ambitions. He is really SELFISH!!

Sachin is our pride. This is true he is not the same.Yet his presence in any team can change the balance. He has given Indian cricket many-a-things.He is way way better captaincy material than Dravid.

Sameer,
that is exactly the point. Any non-performer MUST GO. I think team Australia is the best example of this. They dont care what "big things" someone did 3 years back. They select on current form. We need that attitude.

Ganguly is not selfish. He played anchor innings against Bangladesh and Bermuda. Ganguly and Yuvy were the only guys who did anything worthwhile against Bangladesh. If a couple of other players could contribute some more runs against Bangladesh, India would have a better chance of winning the match and making it into Super Eight. Sometimes slow and steady innings are needed to build a foundation and Ganguly was doing just that. Hitters are there at the other end to make quicker runs - Shewag, Dhoni, Yuvy. The other day Jayawardane did the same thing for Sri Lanka. There are many other examples. It's only stupid Indians who raise questions when a player is steady and slow. So shut up and stop accusing Ganguly or any other player of being selfish. Earlier Dravid himself used to play slower. India lost because they played badly collectively and the opponent played better.
Remember one thing. Players of the calibre of Sachin and Ganguly don't rise that high by being unprofessional. It doesn't work that way.
If a coach begins to doubt the commitment of his own players, he is not much of a coach. He has failed to build a cohesive unit.
Coach Greg Chappell has reportedly criticised the attitude of senior players in the team, including Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh"
These guys are little gang in the team.
Get rid of this little gang and then see Coach Chappell and Team India's performance.
IS BCCI Like Government office : once you get a job you stay till retired.

As I said in the above reply: If a coach begins to doubt the commitment of his own players, he is not much of a coach. He has failed to build a cohesive unit.
So get rid of Chappell and players will play better. All trouble starts with him.
For a change Arvind has chosen Cricket this time and has used his traditional manner of tangential writing to whip up enough people to say something or the other.
These heros and nautanki Actors like Dhoni,Saurav and Sachin ( who has so many failures in imporntant matches that it'snow a joke, importnat match Sachin score -0 or 1 mode of dismissal clean bowled of inside edge ), these guys have now GANGED up against CHAPPELL to protect themselves and their SELFISH interest.
Sure Chapell was or is not a great coach but absolving Sachin , Saurav and others of their responsibility is just not on. These guys can Answer with their BATs if they had the guts or if they wanted it enough.
To SAVE their face they will now make Greg Chapell the SCAPEGOAT for all this.
SACHIN is a very very selfish fellow, he has now decided to represent the players against Chapell. This is disgusting stuff. SACK all the Seniors

Sameer,
you are right about sacking the whole bunch. But I suspect that BCCI is looking for a perfect scapegoat to divert public attention.
We can realistically hope for the 2011 WC... ONLY IF we lose the whole current lot and bring in a YOUNG team, that will run around and amke things happen.
INDIAN TEAM AND BCCI DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE EXIT OF TEAM INDIA IN WC (AND WHAT THEY WERE DOING WHILE THE MATCH WAS IN PROGRESS) DURING THEIR APR 06,2006 MEETING AND THIS WAS RELEASED TO THE PRESS:
1) GANGULY- WAS FANTASIZING ABOUT f6%^&% A BANGLADESHI WOMEN DURING THE MATCHES
2) UTHAPPA;DISCOVERED THAT HE IS STILL A BOY AND IS NOT A MAN YET!
3) DRAVID:GOT A SMS PREVOIS NIGHT FROM HIS WIFE THAT HIS HOUSE WALL HAD COLLAPSED
4)SACHIN:WAS BUSY PREPARING NEW RECIPES FOR HIS RESTAURANT
5)DHONI: FOUND THAT HE HE FORGOT TOWEAR HIS UNDERWEAR DURING THE MATCHES
6) AGARKAR: WAS FUCKED BY A ELECTRIC EEL AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT,THE DAY BEFORE A CRICKET MATCH
7) SEHWAG: FOUND HIS MOTHER IS A SHE MALE
8)HARBHAJAN: SUFFERING FROM SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS,SO FORGOT TO SPIN.
9)ZAHEER KHAN: WAS THINKING OF CONVERTING TO CHRISTIANITY SO THAT HE COULD PLAY LIKE AUSTRALIANS IN NEXT WC
10) MUNAF: WAS DOING FIELDING PRACTISE MENTALLY DURING THE MATCHES.
11)YUVRAJ: YUVRAJ WAS PRACTISING HOW TO MAKE OTHERS RUN OUT WHILE FIELDING AND HOW TO RUN IN BETWEEN WICKETS,MENTALLY
AND LAST OF ALL CHAPPEL WAS FORCED TO F*&* A 70 YEAR OLD TORTOISE BY SHARAD PAWAR EVERY NIGHT BEFORE THE MATCH!!AS HE WAS DOING THE SAME THOUGH NOT BY FORCE!!
1) NO KILLER INSTINCT,NO FIGHTING SPIRIT. 2) AGGRESSION IS ZERO 3) "CHALTHA HAIN YAAR" ATTITUDE 4) TOO MUCH COMPLACENCY 5) TOO MUCH TOLERANCE 6)WE DONT PLAY AS A TEAM,WE PLAY AS AN INDIVIDUAL (THATS WHY WE SEE TOO GOOD STATS FOR OUR SO CALLED "STRONG BATTING LINE UP")
THIS REFERS IN GENERAL TO THE THINKING AND ATTITUDE OF 1 BILLION INDIANS (IAM GENERALIZING,THERE WILL BE EXCEPTIONS).THE WAY OUR PLAYERS PLAYED REFLECTED THE ATTITUDE AND THINKING OF A BILLION PEOPLE.THIS IN OUR BLOOD,WE SHOULD COME OUT OF IT.AND THEN WE BLAME CHAPPEL.
TIPS: 1)WE SHOULD CHANGE OUR ATTITUDE AND THINKING FIRST. 2)GIVE THEM A VACATION FOR 1 YEAR(NO PAY PACKET) 3)LET BCCI START ARRANGING TOURS AGANIST BERMUDA,SCOTLAND,CANADA AND NEDETHERLAND FIRST (IAM SURE OUR TOP PLAYERS WILL MAKE HUNDREDS IN SUCH MATCHES) 4) IF ATTITUDE WAS GOOD IN THE ABOVE SERIES THE ARRANGE TOURS FOR ZIM,BANGLADESH,IRELAND,KENYA). OUR TEAM WILL STRUGGLE IN THESE SERIES. 5) FOR THE NEXT WC WE SHOULD FIRST QUALIFY AGANISR THESE MINNOWS AND THEN COMPETE AGAINST BIG TEAMS.
A LAST GOOD SUGGESTION IS :
6) LET US ALL STOP FOLLOWING CRICKET IAM JUST BEING REALISTIC GUYS!
