Even slow scoring with Beremuda was designed to throw india out of WC.

Bangladesh was playing with 12 players in WC win against India. whereas India played with 10 players.

Ganguly played for himself and Bangladesh.

I think Bangladesh cricket board is trying to show-off on whatmore's case.. now they've called an emergency meeting. The world cup success has made similar effect like it has on a poor who becomes instant rich.

Coach - Difference
by SHIVAJI on Apr 07, 2007 07:23 PM  Permalink

Dear Friends, as i think , there will be no difference to the team , if the coach will be changed, there has to spirit for the nation and not for one's city, especially like sachin , Dhoni, dravid.

New rules of kirkit
by Vimalesh Banarasi on Apr 07, 2007 06:11 PM  Permalink

1)In forthcoming Indo-Pak match, declaring the winner: If Pakistan bats first and scores x runs then the target for India will be revised to x/2. They need to score (x/2) I runs to be declared winner. If India bats first then the number of overs for Pakistan will be reduced to 25. Even after these modifications India contrive to lose, they will be awarded psychological victory.

2) Fielding restrictions: When India is fielding, as soon as any fielder touches the ball, it will be deemed as dead ball and Pakistan batsmen will only be allowed to complete that run. This modification is being done to eliminate time being wasted for overthrows etc.

3) By popular demand from Indian players, a few additional coaches have been included in the touring party with immediate effect. They are: Batting coach : Ravi Shastri. Bowling Coach (with experience in Sharjah conditions): Chetan Sharma. Fielding Coach : Ravi Shastri (Dual responsibility). TV Commercials Coach : Salman Khan. Video Coach : Name will be announced later.

4)In 2011 World Cup- As the deadline to submit final 15 players for the World Cup is over, the result of the match on 18th April between 1983 Indian team and the current team will not have any bearing on the team touring.

Any other suggestions are welcome. We at the ICC would like to ascertain again our commitment to spread the game of cricket globally, from Mozambique to Maldives and from Turkmenistan to Tibet.

Thanking You.

Yours Sincerely,

Vimalesh Banarasi

Management
by Ravi chandran on Apr 07, 2007 02:03 PM  Permalink

Management schools of India were all started with great fanfare. All failed because, we were trying to imbibe Western ideas. (In foreign countries you have Manager -> Worker. In India, it is Manager -> Supervisor -> Worker.) After rewriting all text books with Indian 'Case studies', all got better.

Is the same happening to 'Cricket Management'?

Delegation of powers and accountability!
by Sreeram Ramaswamy on Apr 07, 2007 12:54 PM  Permalink

Going by yesterday's BCCI meeting, it looks like there'll be significant changes in the domestic format, grooming youngsters, cap on endorsements etc. I hope BCCI does what it says and yesterday's announcements don't just remain in the paper. It needs transparency and honesty with sincerity of purpose to achieve this.

Ravi Shastri can prove to be a good team man and so could gel nicely as the team manager and can double-up as a good coach as well.

Appointing Greg as consultant and in-charge of NCA is a good move. He should be given a free hand, so that he can groom many youngsters like Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik, who as of now, are out of the public glare.

Dilip's suggestion of having 30 men in the talent pool is a very good idea and India A team should be nurtured and encouraged to play more overseas tours apart from home matches against foreign teams.

There was also the talk of forming a pitch committee, which will oversee modifying patches to the level of international standards so that our team don't struggle when they go abroad. I hope they live up to what they have said y'day.

Changing of domestic format is very critical and once the domestic league is made competitive by making mandatory for even the seniors to play a minimum set of matches, BCCI would've helped in creating a supply pool of talent to Team India.

So, once these various committees are formed and people in-charge of their respective department are given a free-hand, they become automatically accountability for the performance. Due credit should be given for success and reprimanded for their failures.

Either perform of go should be the order of the day.
