Bengal will reign.
It will rub and scrub the noses of all the self proclaimed experts and specialists.
Okay by politiscs you can drive out the most deserving out of the captaincy and out of the team, but Bengal will always prove that you are wrong you are wrong and you are wrong.
They will prove it with vengeance and contempt in every fora, your politics and parochialism will be slapped again and again by the deserving Bengal players.
The backlash wil take place again and again.

BCCI is a gutless and chacterless body. It is not being held in high esteem by either the players or others.
It has no image of transperancy. With the arrival of a politician at it helm of affairs things are becoming more obscure and hypocrisy is evident.
These politicians have no guts at all.
They can not take any harsh decisions but ride on the wave of public sentiments and emotions.
Dalmiya whatever be the allegations against him was the last good thing that happened to BCCI.

Kiwi,You're not a guy, are you? you sound almost offended. well, he's not that bad looking (not great, but not bad either). I assumed you were talking about looks because, well, Suman wants to do things that go well beyond the call of duty of regular fans.

BCCI is trying to divert people%u2019s attention with unimportant things
by Rahul Roy on Apr 15, 2007 05:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BCCI playing games to divert people%u2019s attention to something else. Main fact is after continuous defeat and putting the country down Rahul Dravid is still the Captain. Under this BCCI management our ICC ranking is going down and down.

Dravid is not a powerful leader and has no self belief. He is too introvert & self centered to be a captain. For his selfish act and self interest he (with the help from another two similar minded person Greg& More ) turned the 'Team India'( inherited from great Ganguly era) to a collection of great players. If you can not build a team then you can not be a team leader. Without a %u201Cteam%u201D you can't win. Consequently we dropped from ICC ranking 2 to 6. He has no influencing power and does not have any charisma to be a captain. He himself understands that. That%u2019s why now he got another a couple of south colleagues (Prasad & Sing) to get the help, support and the %u201Cpower%u201D to make the players agree to his silly plans. Remember if that plain fails he will complain like a child that his players didn%u2019t support him.

A person who can%u2019t lead himself how can he lead 1.2 billion people ?

If a simple man like me can understand, why all the so called experts and knowledgeable BCCI persons can%u2019t understand that?

I think they do understand. But this is the board politics and the part of the arrangement how they came into power. The current management does not care about Indian cricket . As long as they are in power and get the money everything else is fine. DRAVID IS THEIR YES MAN. They just want to put people%u2019%u2019s attention to something different, so that they are not judge by their own performance.

The players should go if they are not performing. But so do the captain, coach & the BCCI management. Because of their combined effort India has slipped down to ICC ranking 6, from ICC ranking 2, when they took power from the previous board.

Only in India we sack our most successful captain after a series win while the captain scored a ton in his last test innings. But we keep our captain (and probably our coach too if he wanted to stay) after such a measurable performance in world cup, champions trophy and so on%u2026.

I think we should change attitude towards cricket tournaments. Just like Olympics we should say participation is the main thing. We do not want to win; all we want our good boy Dravid as captain. The team will not win and the players will not demand. After all it is BCCI who are there to control the players and show who are in charge. Not to help or listen to the player or sort our player%u2019s or support%u2019s problem.

Drivel as long as yours is still drivel.

I'm not going to defend the board here because I too think they're up to something. Although it is something of a pleasant situation that for once, having a strong national side is essential for the board's financial well being. This probably explains some of their recent decisions.

As for Dravid being a "yes man", I too can't believe that Dravid agrees with madmen like Wright & Chappell when they go on & on about nonsense such as youngsters, good attitude, teamwork, professionalism, fitness, athleticism, consistency, mental strength, etc. Who needs all that when we have a team full of stars who can turn into tigers on the telly?

One thing we as a nation really need to do is bring up a couple of other team sports (hockey? football?). Cricket in India is way too important than it should be because it is the only sport where we have any hope of bringing back a medal.

So yeah, we shouldn't have sacked Ganguly because he made a 100 against Zimbabwe while averaging averaging -50 against all other teams. We should sack Dravid who has been our best batsman by far over the last few years. I'm not a big supporter of Dravid's captaincy, but at the moment we really do not have much of a choice in the captaincy department so let him be.

India is having maore than 100 drore population but we are unable to get 11 allrounder players. Why, because of seniour players they dont want to give chance to youngesters. we dont need to have two teams, what we need all is a team that will play for India and not for the personal records

I am sorry that I am forced to write it again, nothing will happen by replacing captain, coach, selectors, players and what more enen BCCI..

The only solution to all the cricketing problems is MAKE FAST PITCHES and u will see the quality of players within a couple of years and with this system THE FLAG OF INDIAN CRICKET WILL ALWAYS FLY HIGH whether selectors, coach, captain, BCCI all become faulty together !!!!!Because in ground only good players are assured to perform and if we make a system to develope good players then is there anything need to be work with?????

This system is working very well in New Zealaland and australia because once to make a good system it will be a guarantee that only good players will be developed!!!!

Reply must if u have some knowledge about cricket.

Regards

Both, I think. You can't ignore the importance of good selectors. But yes, fast pitches will surely improve our overseas record.

Gilchrist showed how to play the moving ball the other day. He constantly stayed on the backfoot, moved with the swing & then hammered the ball like he always does.

We don't have too many who play well on the backfoot. Tendulkar does, but only when he is in "that" mood. Raina showed glimpses of good backfoot play. Kaif manages it now & then. Not sure about the others...

India is having one billion people alright. But, quality does not come out of quantity. One more thing is in a democratic nation, too many cooks spoil the brath. As the saying goes one drop of poison is enough to spoil one pot of milk, few people are enough to destroy Indian cricket and the rset of billion will be only silent spectators. It is high time we shut talking and start doing.

Indian Cricket-Better Days Ahead?

Indian Cricket-Better Days Ahead?

There is a general feeling that senior player are not performing and that they should be dropped, and that chance should be given to new players.
This is basically a wrong nation.
The failure of all players senior or junior except Saurav Ganguly is a testimony to the fact that all the players lost their focus. In a game of cricket it is a question of right mindset after all.
That all other players including Sachin Sehwag etc lost their focus is due to the fact that the Captin and the coach failed to motivate the team.
The man who fought a lone losing battle is none other than Ganguly.
While the departure of Chappel is an welcome chage for the Indian team, reinduction of Saurav is also urgently required.
Only Ganguly can lead India to bring back its lost glory.
He is a great motivator and he can bring emotion and team spirit in the game which is now lacking badly.
This genius will not be there for more than two years. It is time to reorganise the team and groom the future captain under his leadership.
Tomorrow would be too late.
Greetings for the Bengali New Year to all dear readers.
thanks.

You Bengalis how parochial you can be?. Where was ganguly when India lost to Bangladesh and Sri lanka. He was made the openeras was his rightful position. What about Tendulkar? Why he alone had to bat lower down? Even then Ganguly did not play to see that India win the match. What is the point in telling he was the lone fighter. If you see the scores, Dravid also was a lone fighter. The blame for India's exit ahould go to all and no one should be spared. Ganguly's days are over. He was not removed from team for any reason other than his successive failures before he was replaced with Dravid. The credit for India's victories under Ganguly's captaincy should go to John Wright the coach and the support given by other players including Dravid, Tendulakr, laxaman and others. For heaven's sake stop this parochialism which only is killing Indian cricket.
