Pakistan r my favourites. they have excellent all-ronders. Injuries of the key players like Shoaib & Asif vil not matter them much... Definately they r uthe only who vil b wlnnlng the Trophy.

SHAME ON YOU.okay support Pakistan,even i like the Pak team,but don`t write like this about India.and u know why Pakistani team is better than Indian team?? bcoz their fans(unlike you)have more trust in them and don`t go about writing posts saying that their team doesn`t stand a chance,and their arch-rivals will win .

World cup is just a tournament and not a war. The print and news media are giving so much importance to it as if India is pitted against enemies and winning or not winning would decide the future of country.I too love the game,wish India win,but would not break my head if fail to.The hype created cause disheartening , peole become violent and some times commit suicide.I mean all hthis is simply silly.So best of luck for India.
However the team which would play better is likely to win.Pl.comment

World Cup is the biggest tournament and I dont see any issue with the media hype. We see media hype in soccer world cup too...This section is for cricket fans and if someone is annoyed with it, he can avoid surfing this section. It's readers choice what they want to read. Anyways what choices do media have to discuss...politicians...dirty politics...corruption...crimes..Jobs..Indo-US deals...Iraq war...science(discovery channel is taking care of it...and i m sure not too many ppl understand very latest technology)? I am happy atleast sports can give us small respite from routine life..

Sorry, I dont agree with you dude! It's not necessary you have to be consistent throughout the tournament. In sudden deaths matches one must win. In 1983WC India was not one of the best and consistent teams. If you see in 1992 world cup pakistan's performance was pathetic but they beat SA and England in crucial matches. England were performing consistently but lost in finals. In 1996 WC, SA was consistent throughout but knocked out by WI in penultimate match when WI was very inconsistent. I think WC is wide open for any team going into semis. It is performance which matters most on the particular day of the match.

Not convincing again. In 1999 WC, NZ and PAK defeated Aussies in league matches. SA was more consistent than Aussies. In semis Aus defeated SA and they won WC from there. In 2003 WC Australia was consistent by looking at points table but their victories were not very comfortable and I remember they won most of the matches because of middle order allround performances. They won from losses on couple of occassions. There top order batting flourished in crucial knock out matches. After all cricket is game of chance. India's performance was excellent and had they won finals they would have bettered Australia's points tally. India had chance in finals but they didnt had faith on themselves and lost.

Small correction in Semi of 1999 WC SA vs AUS was tied and Aus went into finals as they had defeated SA in Super six.
