Cannot agree with Ms Sukanya Verma's list of 'other' 'great'films. Bollywod has indeed produced some superb films- and yes Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, and Tere Ghar ke Saamne, Chitchor are indeed some of them. But what about films like Aan, Awaara, Seema,Paying Guest, and perhaps the greatest of them all- Bandini- where a much-beleaguered Nutan falls at the feet of a sick-and-dying Ashok Kumar in total surrender of love and passion ? The movies listed in this article Chashme Buddoor,Chameli Ki Shaadi, Chhoti Si Baat I must have seen these movies atleast 50 times each. Amar Prem - this is the movie which comes closest to my heart depicting "what is love". It is about caring for the other person and that is it. The last scene where in Rajesh Khanna tells Vinond Mehra to take Sharmila with him. They just cant make this movie again. Raincoat is one movie which comes close to this.
My feeling of romance is not when u actually meet your lover, but, the feeling of meeting her.The feeling when u r in the way to meet her is what my idea of romance. That's why i immensely liked this scene of the movie Vivah when Amrita goes to meet Shahid on the roof of her house in the night without anybody's notice. It has picturised so beautifully that u simply surrendered yourself in this less than a minute scene.
