Domench again proves he's useless with team selection
by Ram Mohan on Jun 10, 2008 02:02 PM  Permalink

domench got the team selection wrong. imagine the enery that france w'd have if they had sagna and clichy as fullbacks. evra is also fine, but lacks clichys energy levels. toulan is no where good as flamini and since benzema was there they shd hav gone for 4-5-1. with flamini, ribery, malouda, govou and nasri in midfeild. a flamini w'd do twice the work of a makelele.

but again domench is such a bloody lucky manager
and france are slow starters. so dont write them off. romania were a very good organized team and c'd stiffle the italians and dutch.
and dont write of the italians as well, anyone can go thru.

and again france are not missing zizou, they miss a good coach coz domenech is bollocks

France missed a lot of easy chances yesterday. They dominated the game throughout but failed to convert their chances. They missed Henry badly.

Not very surprising...
by Prashanth DSouza on Jun 10, 2008 07:59 AM  Permalink

to see Romania put up such a tough fight against France. If I am not mistaken, Romania finished top of their group during qualifiers and are pretty strong. Also they played without any hassles of needing to prove anything, so it was a tough fight. France really need to improve their finishing, it was pathetic, and Anelka should've nailed the header chance he got, under no pressure whatsoever. Ribery was sort of non existent for the first 15 mins or so, and then only a shadow of himself later. France seem to tire very fast, they need to pep up or really control the game very efficiently, a tall order against Italy and Netherlands, who are their group opponents.

It is not incomplete without England...
England is a team with lot of hype and no substance...Just because their clubs are doing well does not mean England is a good team. In their clubs it is players from other countries those are shining...

England has never won European Cup in 48 year history
England has never even come second
Their best performance was 3rd in 1968 (40 years ago)
Even Checz, Denmark and Greece have won it
They have qualified only 7/13 times
They have only played 28 matches (Germans have 56)

there is no harm in seeing Italy humiliated again by Germany as they were in Monte Cassino in World War II. Italy are a scheming, deceitful nation of cheats and thieves and tainted by negro blood. We also have to get back for three world cup defeats dating back to 1970. Revenge is long overdue for the greatest nation in the world - Germany.

Mr Ganguli,
I am not the kind to generally blog or be part of chat rooms, but just could not resist taking a dig at you...The battle of Monte Cassino was between the Alied and the Axis(Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Imperial Japan). So I fail to understand your point. Secondly Germany as a nation themselves feel ashamed of the holocaust during the world war leave apart calling some one else names.
As for soccer…I wish there is Germany VS Italy final….and we would see who wins the contest….remember we are the world champions

Shashank, you may be world champions but remember that Germany has reached the semi finals of the world cup 11 times out of 16. They did not take part in 1930 and 1950. Can Italy boast of that record? Italy suffered a defeat to North Korea in 1966 and were knocked out in first round.

Germany will win this time I am sure, and the spirit of Field Marshall Kesselring shall be manifest in all 11 players.

Well as for the record books the stats that you have given here prove just one thing...gremans dont have the finishin act11 times to semifinals...counts for nuthing...italy my friend is the second only to brazil in terms of tournament wins...and trust me this is inspite of the luck more often than not goin against them...a classic example the world cup in korea were toti was fouled in the penalty area by the koreans, n that too in golden goal period and instead of getting a penalty the ref gace toti a second yellow of the match...

Yes sure, why not. Pls email me at hathi_gcg@hotmail.com. Good to touch base with a fellow bengali.

I am not a Nazi but admire the Wehrmacht and the Waffen SS whom I regard as the greatest fighting forces of all time. I also feel that Field Marshall Rommell was the greatest leader in his time and try to emulate him in my daily work life. And I dare say, I have been successful...........had no attritions for two years.

I have a high admiration for everything German. If I could, I would reverse history and ensure that Germany won World War II.
