First World Champion in India
by rajeev sharma on Oct 23, 2007 11:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dravid has got his facts wrong - Anand is NOT the First World Champion in India!!! That honour belongs to Mr. Wilson Jones, who won Billiards World Championship way back in 1957. Mr. Jones is recognised as first ever world champion from India in ANY sport - whether individual or team!!!
May be he meant First World champion from India in Chess!!!

Rahul, a role model!!!!

Dravid is most professional sportsman in the world without any doubt. I have seen him practice as a youngster. He is so focused on everything he does. Such a thorough gentleman. No histrionics. No Deepika, no controversies, no flamboyance, no balck mark etc etc. He is an exceptional personality. I wish I could be mor elike him. He got married according to his parents, very low key, now has a kid, dream of every man in India. When I lived in Bangalore, I never saw him in the news, cutting ribbons, inaugrating a fashion show, walking the ramp, getting drunk in a pub, misbehaving with girls...nothing...he is perfecionist!!!!I admire his qualities. The only AD I can remmber of Rahul's is the Reebok AD in retail stores. Do you know? He is the only Indian selected to represent Gillete worldwide along with Federer, Thierry Henry and Tiger Woods!!!!I only hope the youngsters of India follow his example. He is an awesome role model.

Dravid is an experienced quality cricketer,thats it! Seems like you are talking more about your view on life than that of Dravid. This is not the right forum to expose your self personality. These kind of opinions hold greater readership in matrimonial columns.

So getting married according to your parents' wishes is an achievement now??? Dravid was a low-key person, and so low key he was that he could not even connect to his team when he was the captain. Too gentlemanly to be in the captain's position, no wonder he was such a dismal figure in that role.

I don't think marrying according to parents wish is good for indian society. Aren't you grow up to pick a right girl for your partner. Still living in old tradition. what a shame

Mr. No name, for you information just check the Gillete worldwide ad in international newspapers. It has only Federer, Thierry Henry & Tiger woods.. ( Dravid is added only in Indian ad.. he is not an international star ). Anyways he is a great guy, but as a captain he did many mistakes which badly hurted Indian team.

Hi GRT Guru,

Get your facts right before spewing your frustrations on a public forum. Read the folowing link. Dravid does appear in the world wide Ad.

BTW, I don't agree with the views expressed by the nameless creature who has commented about dravid being good because he got married according to his parents!! LOSER!

Two gentlmen
by VASUDEVAN V on Oct 23, 2007 10:34 AM  Permalink

What a tribute to Vishwanathan Anand from Rahul Dravid! They are both thorough gentlemen and adorn the games they play. One is a world champion twice over and another is a world class batsman, who never got his due because of the Tendulkar factor ailing our cricket. They both are perfect ambassadors to the respective games they play. May they bring many more glories to our country through their achievements in the sporting arena and their demeanour off the field.

you are cheap person just because there is a blog you start writing. If you do not want to see the big 3 play shut off your tv and go take a walk why bother. Your personal inadequacies of thinking, manners etc are all getting exposed through your thoughtless posts.

Dear Vikash;
Rahul 'The Wall' Dravid has made us proud in his own field.He won Test Matches for us singlehandedly.Remember the epic partnership with Laxman in Kolkata against the Aussies.He has every right to speak his mind.When a hero worships another hero then it is trust overlapped with confidence.
My salute to Anand and Dravid.

My comments were against girish who scribbled hate against the big 3. All achievers are great and have to be respected. My post was in no way against Dravid.

Dear Vikash;
You are right.The man who started those comments must understand that.I wrote it to make him understand that.But I replied you because let the other man save his face.It is Mr:- Girish who is the culprit by having attitudes against our own heros.We as a young nation need heros like Anand and Dravid etc.
Thanks for replying me.
