RE:rediff covers only a small portion of the REAL news

the complete news in short:
1. Anand Presented Rs.10 Lakh
2. former Olympic gold medal winning hockey captain V.Bhaskaran, table-tennis Arjuna Awardee S.Raman like gr8 sportspersons were also present on this mega event
3. D.V.Sundar, Honorary Secretary, AICF introduced seven age group world champions who offered flowers to Anand. Ivana Furtado (World Under-8 girls), C.H.Mohineesh (World Under-8), Sahaj Grover (World Under-10, former), Ch. Sahajasri (World Under-10 girls), N.Srinath (world under-12, former), Aarthie Ramaswamy (World Under-18, former) and Koneru Humpy (World No.2 women and World Junior Under-20, former).
but nothing mentioned in the news above.. what kind of media we have?
I salute Vishy and Dravid for their thorough gentlemanship and world class spoertsmanship. It was whoever organised the function rightly they invited two great personalities together. MAKES SENSE.
Anand is a gem of a person apart from his proficiency in Chess, never in his life has he been critical, when the World chess system itself is filled with politics like FIDE, PCA etc......and 2 reigning world champions..
A great news becomes news only after a cricketer joining the function. It is very sad. When V.Anand came to India after winning the Championship no one paid heed to this great achievement. When Sachin wishes Karthikeyan then people know what karthikeyan is and Dravid write s a column in favour of Federar then people try to know about federar. This is very shameful that a country which has many talent in every sports but people dont pay any attention towards them. Cricket is a lazy persons game. Only under developed or developing country involve in it. If you say That England is developed nation then see the ratio of development. Industrial revolution was started and as per the situation they must be on No.1. And Australia is not a developed nation.
Cricket is the main culprit behind the least development of this country. It only kill the time. This is the most time taking game in the world.Even 20-20 takes 3 and half hour to finish.

Nothing friend, I am just supporting your view. In my view our news channels and newspapers are producing cheap quality news. Which has nothing to do with common people. They are just giving Chatpate news like MANOHAR KAHANIYAN. And they call themselves fourth state. What a funny thing.

ravi, Pls dont blame the country or people for this.....it(s) the media that gives this hype ! so be critical about it, if u think Indians, then forget , 70% of population dont have TV at homes, then what they understand about Anand or Cricket ? Most people struggle for day2day life and food !
Anand is a wonderful and enduring champion and I feel truly proud of him. His ability to overcome odds combined with his humility and down to earth behaviour is something I want my kids to emulate.
I am very proud to say that he was my classmate in Loyola, Chennai. What a simple personality he was as then he was the national champion that time. He never use to show off like other sportsperson when they achieve in big arena, I also would like to read his inspiring book.

everyone is proud of that.. Moses is just telling some more qualities of anand such as humbleness, down to earth etc.. whats wrong in that...

Does humbleness, down to earth, Loyola, Chennai make a chess champion? Sorry, I just lost his point. I am just trying to understand whats that extra that makes him a cut above the rest when it comes to chess. Its certainly not the above qualities. There are millions around who lead simpler lives with all the above qualitites mentioned by our friend even if they are not part of Loyola or Chennai. Lets at least be fair to them, shall we?
