aagaya bhai chess champion comment karne ko. kabhi zindagi mein chess khela hai. anand 20 saal se international chess khel raha hai. Go check the number of tournaments he has won. No one can be a fluke and overrated player and win a world championship two times. Go ask your overhyped and overrated indian cricket stars they will tell you the true meaning of being overrated. What do you mean by less educated. You dont need a phd to play chess
There were lot of fans who hoped of Ananad winning world title during Karpov and Kasparov era itself. But Anand was unsucceful at that times. It is very very humble on the part of Anand to acknowledge the fact but that would not undermine his status as undisputed world champion. A true sportsman is more interested in beating fierce opponents than winning titles. Just like Roger Federer in Tennis. Anand, we are proud of you not just because of winning the world championship but also because of your true sportsmanship and great character.
First off, Congrats to Vishy! for becoming no. 1 and also for getting over the elusive 2800 elo point hurdle. I dont think it serves any good by belittling other stars such as Tendulkar that India produced. Each have had their days and have produced quite memorable moments for us to relish. But one thing that stands out is..how Anand, in spite of his calm demeanour and minus all the poster boy attitude has elevated a game like chess to such a level that kindered passion among millions of ppl resulting in India producing one GM after another and even if ppl dont play, they have better knowledge now and follow more games and want their kids to play chess. That by itself is a beautiful and personally satisfying achievement. Keep up the good work Anand! Keep giving more back to chess, the game you breathe! Regards, Arun
