hyped up pro-congress writer dead
by BhejaFry on May 19, 2008 12:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Vijya Tendulkar selectively criticised only shiv sena during his career. never crticised congress misrule. congress showered him with awards.he was one of the coitre of sena bashing page 3 writers that the congress maintained on its payroll. he was nothing as compared to great marathi writers like Pu La Deshpande , Da Ma Mirasdar, Shankar Patil , Madhu Mangesh Karnik who took digs at all parties and were not pro or anti any particular parties.

I won't say PL was coward, but PL was more diplomatic. He avoided hurting people directly. At the time of MaharashtraBhushan, he did not say word about what Thakrey family was doing. Also, he did not come out openly against emergancy.

Unlike PL, VT was frank and open minded. He spoke his mind without thinking of it's effects. I think, this needs guts.

Despite this, both were great writers. Of course it needs intelligence to understand that not all will think alike and sing the same song as yours.

Bheja Fry and Iyer, Are you understand marathi? if yes, do you understand literature? if not, please do not comment like sily. Of course again, it needs intelligence to understand when to keep mouth shut. That's why we see so many fools around like Bheja Fry and Iyer.

You're very right, BhejaFry, and never mind the accolades that're flowing in simply because he's dead. Vijay Tendulkar was a hyped up hypocrite, whose criticisms were rather selective. He raged about Gujarat, while never once opening his mouth about the Hindus of Kashmir or elsewhere. Pity India continues to revere such glorified hypocrites, as Bal Thackeray would put it.

Most people post condolence without knowing the person... I am neither gonna condole, nor condemn, for i do not know him... From the article i read on TOI, he said nasty words against Modi.. For this, i might give him my punjabi punch... But i am really gonna excused him, for i really do not know him... May lord give him a rebirth (salvation is not possible), at some sullah land..

Moderators,

I appriciate that you found this news worthy to put on your website. However the manner in which the heading goes is a bit irritating. He was a great author, show him some respect. Dont put that he is dead, write 'He is no more' or 'He has passed away'.

He was one of the greatest unconventional writer and his greatness can be confirmed because some BALYAA from MUMBAI opposed him. I would like to salute this great soul for standing his ground in the fierce opposition from this BAALYAA and THAKAR Company !!

Vijay Tendulkar
by Bala Iyer on May 19, 2008 12:09 PM  Permalink

Mr. Vijay Tendulkar was a literary giant whose works were far ahead of his time. His courage was indomitable in tackling subjects that has great social relevance. His daughter Priya too was a class of her own. Marathi literature has truly lost a great personality. May his soul rest in peace.
