Why do migrants from UP and Bihar leave their homes and prefer to sleep on pavements in Mumbai? If anything, the outrage needs to be directed at the politicians who have mismanaged these states for decades (and towards those who elect them again and again)

wow.....they do sleep on streets but get up at the 4 in the morning and deliver your goods for daily needs.....they work more than 12 hours a day to fulfill their small dreams.... if you cant appreciate their hard work atleast dont condemn them...
What has these politicians done for maharashtra ...... NOTHING,
Everyone is aimng to fill their pockets only...look at the hardships common man (apla marathi manoos) has to face..no water supply!!! power cuts ranging from 6-12 hours PER DAY....Roads in a mess (and they want people responsible for maintaining roads for election duty leaving roads in a bigger mess)
Such people cause nothing more than additional hardships....PLEASE REMOVE THEM FROM THE SCENE, LET MUMBAI PROSPER

It is sad that Britishors left India. Atleast during their regime the India as country was united as ONE and today with our own third rate Indian Leaders we are being treated like third rate citizens. If this country has to survive we need to show NIL tolerance with anti national activities or else we should beg foreign countries to take over and become our bosses.. Mr Raj should be given without any trial Life Imprisonment without delay. But I know this country is full of many Rajs' hence no one will take action....that is for sure...
What Raj Takeray says must be condemned, but leaders from SP and RJD have no right to be pointsmen for UP/Bihar people in this controversy. What have this leaders done for UP/Bihar people. Aren't they the reason why people from those states go to other regions for jobs. If they had created adequate infrastructure instead of being totally inept, their words will have some value. The opposition to Raj takeray and people like him should be led by professors/managers/and other common people working in Mumbai who have migrated from UP/Bihar. Not by goons from RJD, BSP who will make the issue more murkier and cause hard to common people in the end. I hope good sense prevails.
If the government has courage and conviction, it can create many more Bombays in India. Its really bad that the Commercial activity has been centred around Bombay (Iam deliberately avoiding the name Mumbai because it is a term generated from Sena's mindset). We have to create many more Bombays in India. Including in U.P. and Bihar.

well said friend!!!!!! but you know Bombay was not created by Indian gov. but Bitish.....They developed Bombay because of its natural location in their self interest.
Its obvious that sea states have harbors and ports so they became center of commerce.
Every civilization has a peak time and then a fall..Nalanda of Bihar was the best university in history.Muarya, Guptas were from Bihar.
We Indians are only good in changin names of places....

The Government of India should immediatley pass a law to ban rabid Linguistic chauvinistic groups such as MNS, Kannada Chaluvali, Kannada Rakshana Vedike, etc., Otherwise, these people are going to divide the country like Bosnia, USSR. These groups are more dangerous than terrorist groups as it will hit at the bottom of the unity of the country. Arrest these linguistic terrorists - Raj Thackeray, Vatal Nagaraj, Udipi and kick on their backs until they reform. If these Linguistic terrorism is not stopped, the disintegration of India will start not from Srinagar, Amritsar or Gangtok but from Mumbai / Bangalore.
