lets pledge no more bore well episode in future
by Hari on Mar 27, 2008 01:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The first order the govt. must issue is immediate closing of all open borewell. failure to follow instruction shall result in severe jail and surrender of licence by contractor.
Follow up action should be monitored.
After completing the new borewell, the contractor has to immediatley submit certificate that hole has been protected/closed with witness .

You are right. Severe punishment should be given to the contractors for keeping such dangerous borewells open. Instead of spending so much money and energy in rescue operations we must make sure that such incidents do not occur in future. However, the army must be congratulated for their dedication and excellent work.

Why on earth every time it happens
by Sowmya Rajan on Mar 27, 2008 01:08 PM  Permalink

It is really sad that frequently this is happening. Who is held responsible? Who is incharge and is Public Administration taking preventive measures? What sort of punishment is given to contractors who are careless. Even if they dig a pit, they should cover it, so that no one accidentally falls into it. Someone should be made accountable for such lapses

by buddys buddy on Mar 27, 2008 01:02 PM  Permalink

It was hell in the house and the hearts of the parents of the lil girl and now its heaven. I dont imagine how irresponsible these morons are to leave the holes unfilled. I think this is one of the few incidents the child had escaped. The army has done a great job. Please punish severly the culprits and publish that too.

girl rescued from open borewell
by kumar hariharan on Mar 27, 2008 01:00 PM  Permalink

In India nobody is held accountable either because they are govt. servants or they have a big pull on the top.Severe punishment that should include jail for a minimum period of seven days should deter such calamities. If any work is carried out by contarctors or by govt. agencies a board displaying the tel. no for complaint and person to be contacted should be done which is never seen at all.Mind you if you see water gushing out due to leaks from a massive pipe line, you as educated individual do not know whom to contact and even if you do it then the blame starts from you and problems are delayed.
