Raj Thackeray Saheb, save Marathi film industry
by Fatema Begum on Mar 19, 2008 07:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Raj Thackeray Saheb, why are you not opening your eyes to the fact that Punjoo dominated Bollywood has deliberately killed Marathi film industry and growth of Marathi language itself? Please do not blame only Biharis for this. Poor Biharis may have grabbed jobs, but prosperous Punjabis of Bollywood indulge in naked racism and regional chauvinism against Maharashtrian actors. You must throw Bollywood out of Mumbai and Maharashtra if you wish to save Marathi dear Raj Saheb. Tomorrow will be too late.

RAJ THACKEREY - I AM WITH YOU
by Vishwamitra Singh on Mar 19, 2008 07:41 PM  Permalink

Dear Colonel Dr Anil Athale (retired). You are somewhere near to the periphery of the problem but has hesitated to be branded as Marathi Chauvenist an hence hesitated to hit the nail on its head. I am a North Indian and has no qualms in saying that the means adopted by Raj Thackrey and MNS may not be justified at the very outset but the opposition en-mass Migration from Bihar and Eastern UP is correct. there are many issues which needs to be addressed. What the consitution stated 60 years back on the basis of restricted franchise may not be true for all times.
To shorten the story due to space restriction, we have to make the smaller state of comparable size so that no state has over leaverage in national politics and thus try to influence national policies.
National Structure has to become more Fedral with sttates with more autonomy.
Migration of skilled labour and non-skilled labour to be regulated so that all states work hard to create employment for their people. It will help to create the all round development through out the country rather than in pockets. It will also control illigal migration from country like Bangla Desh which has become threat to national security. It will also make these politician accountable to the people.
We will have to give real democracy to the people rather than having pseudo or apparent democracy.
Present set up of governance is threat to national security.
Last but the least farmers in maharashtra will not commit suicide if they have

RAJ THACKEREY IS RIGHT SO IS MNS
by Vishwamitra Singh on Mar 19, 2008 07:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Raj,
You are right in you opposition to unskilled lobour migration from other states and bangladesh. Unskilled labour is not welcome all over the world why they should be welcome in Maharashtra.
YOU HAVE DONE IT BECAUSE U COULD SAVE LIVES OF SO MANY POOR PEOPLE ESPECIALLY FARMERS WHO HAVE NO SIDE JOBS WHICH HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY THESE MIGRANTS.
tELL THE COURTS THAT YOU DID IT BECAUSE SO MANY FARMERS ARE COMMITTING SUICIDE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE PART TIME JOBS WHICH HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY THESE UNSKILLED MIGRATION EN-MASS.
THAT THE MOVE IS IN UTMOST NATIONAL INTEREST. IF BIHAR IS NOT PRODUCING JOBS THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM. WHY ARE THEY CREATING PROBLEMS FOR MARATHIS
THEY SHOULD ASK THEIR LEADERS FOR MORE JOBS

What an analysis....
by no south on Mar 19, 2008 07:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This man pretends to be an intellectual and then uses terms like BIMARU states. In my opinion, this man Colonel Dr Anil Athale is no better than the likes of Raj Thakerey. I hope that other North Indians have also read the article, and can see what it truly stands for. The fact of the matter is that Maharashtrians of all political ideologies are convinced that North Indians (read BIMARUS) are spoiling their state. So Northies should not expect any decency from these people, and we must fight prejudice with prejudice. If they call us BIMARUS, we must call them ghattees/pandoos/mamoos.

Why are Maharashtrians tolerating Bollywood?
by Fatema Begum on Mar 19, 2008 07:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When Punjoo dominated Bollywood finished off Marathi cinema and made its leading actors sidekicks in Hindi movies, Marathis did not do anything at all. Why is Raj Thackeray not doing anything about this?

Tolerance of a common Marathi man
by Astute Analyst on Mar 19, 2008 07:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Anyone who accuses Maharashtrian people of provincialism should visit Chennai and try to speak with a rikshaw driver in Hindi or should work in a company dominated by Bengalis. I have nothing against North Indians but before stereotyping a particular region on account of the actions of a selfish politician who is trying to survive in the politics, one should be fair that a common Marathi man is the most tolerant and friendly. The proof - you can get away on the streets of Mumbai by not knowing Marathi - something unthinkable in another major city in the country.
