Tolerance of a common Marathi man
by Astute Analyst on Mar 19, 2008 07:29 PM

Anyone who accuses Maharashtrian people of provincialism should visit Chennai and try to speak with a rikshaw driver in Hindi or should work in a company dominated by Bengalis. I have nothing against North Indians but before stereotyping a particular region on account of the actions of a selfish politician who is trying to survive in the politics, one should be fair that a common Marathi man is the most tolerant and friendly. The proof - you can get away on the streets of Mumbai by not knowing Marathi - something unthinkable in another major city in the country.
