Shivsena and BaLasaheb/Uddhav Thackeray were getting close to North Indians. They attended some North Indian functions. Munna Tiwari or Tripathi withdrew cases he had filed against BaLasaheb Thackeray. If North Indians and Maharashtrians vote for BJP/Shivsena congress might loose the next elections. Congress made Raj Thackeray pull a stunt like this and spoiled the relations. Now North Indiand and Marathi people are at each others throat. North Indians will vote for Congress. Maharashtrian Votes will get divided between ShivSena and MNS. And Congress will continue to rule. This has been reported so many times in so many newspapers. The real culprits are scott-free. Congress will reward Raj Thackeray with a ministerial posts. Shivsena and BJP should make an effort to unite North Indiand and Maharshtrians and drive Congres sout of power. Even after all these incidents none of the Congress leader in Maharashtra made a scathing verbal attack on Raj. There were no "Marathi-Hindi Bhai Bhai" kind of melas organized by Congress or NCP. No "Ekata Pheri". Nothing. Well you guys decide wh is behind all this.

Hey guys why we fight with each other....these politicians like Raj Thackeray can provoke hatred only......see wht is happening today all countries know tht we are interanlly weak and they are dividing India.......Pakistan has more than Half of Jammu & Kashmir and they have gifted some portion of Indian terittory to China.....and India remained quit bcoz we were not united.......now China is eyeing Arunachal Pradesh and we are still fighting among us........actually we all are sick......only God can help...Jai Hind

Very Typical of North Indian political mentality. North Indians anywhere they go think politically.. maybe due to their strong feudal legacy.
Samajwadi Party MP Abu Azmi started it all by saying that UP/Biharis are now a substantial vote bank and they are going to distribute lathis (sticks) to UP/Biharis. This was a flash point.
Tell me which state in India has witnessed such an absurd phenomenon. Migrants from other states flood in such large numbers that they become a huge vote bank and then start flexing their political muscle.
Which country, state, city in the entire world welcomes uneducated, unskilled, non-tax paying, immigrants at the cost of the local economy?
Many of these migrants stay in slums (illegally occupying precious public lands), become hawkers or vendors (occupy footpaths, clog the roads) and of course never pay taxes. No wonder Mumbai's infrastructure is at a breaking point. Centre-level politics which are dominated by Northern states, overlook this situation and do not provide enough funds and infrastructure projects to overcome this influx.
No wonder Raj Thakeray's politics has struck a right cord.

Dude....you are just hung to a statement by Abu Azmi( I dont know how many people know his mane even is UP)...and you justify all your killings and violence just based on that.....doesnt matter a bihari is poor and he is your state working as labour....becasue of them Bal thackeray can call a whole community as unwanted and justify the violence...Why shoould not we hate marathis becasue of what thackeray say....if abu azmi says then he is hated but if tahckeray says then he is a true marathi....so when did north indian bashing became a true marathi sign....Its jusk like killing and removing jews from all over europe by nazis....becasue they were competing with them for there resources..... I am against randomly picking up north indians from the state and bashing them up. But I strongly feel rules should be observed. No slums should be allowed on public land. No hawker should be allowed to sell on the roads, only legal shop owners. No faking taxi/auto permits. I know I am sounding too idealistic and these rules are not followed. If everything illegal gets rewarded this way, it is but natural there will be a hostile, even illegal violent reaction too! Come and live in Mumbai and see how our living standards have deteriorated. As about Bal Thackeray, do not listen to the Hindi news channels.. they are very biased. Get his editorial translated by someone who knows Marathi. The "SAU BIMAR" quote was taken from a Punbaji SMS. His ire was against Bihari politicians and not the common man there.

16 north Indians were killed in Manipur. And I don't see Mulayam, Lalu or any other politiciand making a hue and cry about that. What happened in Mumbai was just a fight between North Indiand and Maharashtrians. Not that I want to justify that. But 16 people were gunned down and this news passes like it's no big deal. What Raj did is deplorable. But don't single out just him.

Everybody on this forum seems to think that prosperity in Mumbai is due to non-maharashtrians only. It is partly true. I agree that there are not many Marathi businessman. But why do people from the rest of the country come to Mumbai for business. Why don't they go to other states? The reason is that the local government ( in this case Maharashtra government) makes an agressive efforts to help industrialists to start businesses, provides the necessary infrastructure, maintains the law-and-order. If you compare states like Bihar, UP, Rajasthan, West Bengal etc., you will notice that the law-and-order situation is bad, there are union problems, lack of infrastructure , there are caste based gangs or senas etc. Maharashtra and other states like Karnataka and Andhra provide all the elemets that an Industrialist looks for in a state to start his/her business. If Outsiders have made contribution to Mumbai, Mumbai and Maharashtrians in turn have provided an atmosphere conduicive for growth and development. The same goes for Banglore. The movie industry is in Mumbai because the pioneers of Indian Cinema were Maharashtrians. V. Shanataram, Dadasheb Phalke made tremendous contribution to Indian Cinema. People should recongize that before making demands for separate Mumbai and saying that Maharashtrians are only workers.

All was well , till Mumbai reclaimation was done. This reclaimation was done during the 70's and this created this problem. Instead of this if Nagpur had been developed or still yet Ratnagiri or any other place, then this influx would not have come. Same problem with Bangalore. Just developing on all sides , without thinking about the future has landed Bangalore in all problems. There are many places in India which can be developed like Gwalior , Jaipur etcetra, but the govt has no vision at all about Infrastructure and civic problems.
On all the news and comments posted below it at rediff, first for last one month, I first observed every now and then Moslem and Islamic fundamentalism is been heately infact literally torn apart...then gradually news coverage of every event from SIGNING NUCLEAR DEAL, TIBBET ISSUE, OIL PRICE HIKE, FAILING TO GIVE SHELTER TO TASLIMA NASRIN SARABJIT SINGH BEING ORDERED TO HANG IN PAKISTAN CHINA'S DEMAND FOR ARUNACHAL PRADESH has been beutifully given such a shape to show failure of present UPA government..Infact it was directly/indirectly labelled Pro Muslim, Jihadi supporter, and kneeling infront of Communist parties(which are supporting china, at this this what everyone is shouting )... Then at the bottom of every news, few particular guys are emphasizing at the failure of UPA and it is being antinational..then giving solution for either EARLY ELECTION OR BRINGING BJP OR OTHER SUCH PARTIES IN POWER IN FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS... and now some more ground prepration by above news... "We are no longer untouchable for Muslims: BJP"

The bihari who was staying near to my house now went to his native(Bihar). He was here since from last 10 years. Very nice person and always ready to help others. See people please don't listen to Thankre bandhu(Raj/ Balasaheb). They donot want the maharashtra secular. They always speak nonsense things about other religions like(Muslims,GUJRATIS, Tamilians, keralites,BSP). Now they are against northindians. There is nothing new everytime they are in search of other religion. We all must come together to fight them (MUslims/tamils/gujjus/marwadi/bsp) we all come together and show them their right place.
