I wonder why the media is giving this issue so much coverage. Is it because she was a FOREIGNER ?? Does the same media even bother to cover the rape & murder of Indian women in such detail?? It seems people have a fascination for white skin & foreigners.

A crime is a crime. It is more heinous when the police try to protect the criminals than work to get justice.
Here is a gritty mother who is fighting the establishment which wanted to treat this like any other crime, as you say. Her persistence in ensuring that the culprits are caught and jistice done is really appreciable.
The Chief Minister of Goa, Digamber Kamat, made a silly remark accusing the mother of being responsible for this tragedy. In such an event, do you expect his police to behave professionally? Most Indians, and Indian politicians, and police will want to run with "chalta hai" (it is OK) attitude. But, Fiona must be supported in her fight, just to ensure that the police will know its duty is to protect the innocent and catches all those who are party to such a crime.
I disagree with the view that this case is because of fascination for white skin.
No arguments needed to put blame here and there. It was the most serious crime possible, rape and murder. The rapist definetely intended her to drown and that was ensured by drugging and leaving her on the beach. Drowning is used to avoid calling it murder. Even if mother was careless does not justify murder. By the way, after a female is under influence of alcohol or drugs, her consent also is considerd invalid as anyways she is not conscious. A drug addict deserves treatment. Not rape and murder. A murder is a murder. NO ARGUMENTS. Let the courts decide.
if u had seen her photo, she looks like 20 plus and not 14 years old.
she was seen partying, drinking wine, taking drugs etc
its common in india that we ppls get attracted to white skin.
and if u see a girl who is drinking, taking drugs, dancing etc etc, any one can loose control and in their country they use to have sex with any one if they like that person...
it just happened, may be the stars of this guy were not good.

come on man whatever she was , rape and murder can not be jsutified at all. and finally police role is to collect evidence and solve the case. what they are doing is trying to be judge themselves.
