Pak
by tejindar singh on Mar 10, 2008 06:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am happy a Govt is being formed by the two major parties. I hope they work better than Indian coalition with partners putting spoke in every good wheel like the communists. It is in our interest that strong Pak emerges otherwise democracy in Pak will survive on 'hate India' campeigns.Pak is not as back word as we think, it is equally good or bad as India, only smaller in area and GDP.

Dont stress your head bro. Even if one single party is forming the govt. they cannot function as Indians do.

You are absolutely right biradar! Democracy may come to Pak but it is truly doubtful how long it can survive. Because Pak Army keeps interfering in the politics. Also, the very basis of formation of Pak is "Hate India" and hence such nation can never be stable until and unless it changes the very attitude and enters into a completely different ethos and start anew. Pak can be stable and progress further only if it eschews the "anti-India" policy and walks hand in hand with india who is on the brink of becoming the biggest power in Asia.
Though this sounds like a pipe-dream, isnt it?

Don't allow USA to direct funding to Army
by sanjay kumar on Mar 09, 2008 09:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ask USA to stop direct funding to Army. As long as army depends upon civil authority for funds, it remains obedient. If you want to ride a tigerr, don't allow others to feed it directly.

You have raised a good point. Is all of the aid that the USA provides Pakistan for military purposes? If so why? Pakistan faces no cross border threats. India has repeatedly reiterated its own resolve not to invade Pakistan's territory. The other Nations bordering Pakistan have never claimed any of its territory. So why so much money for the Armed Forces in Pakistan?

Pakistan is going to be number 1 economy, democracy, sporting country in the world in next 6 months. Maximum 7 months. Women will be allowed to wear bikinis on the beach, and men will be allowed to see their bodies.

Pakistan: PML(N), PPP clinch deal
by Nirpinder Singh on Mar 09, 2008 07:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is to be noted that the Destinies and also the fate of the political parties of the nations in South East Asia seem to be interlinked. In India Smt. Indira Gandhi became hugely unpopular and lost the popular mandate only to regain it and then become unpopular again. Just when she seemed to be on her way out of Government for a second time she was assasinated thus breathing new life into her party. Her children are now on the road to dynastic monoply of her party. Likewise in Pakistan Benazir Bhutto had been Prime Minister and became unpopular. She too was trying to revive her political fortunes and was assasinated resulting in her party winning a good number of seats. Her children are now set to take over her party. The same story can be found to be repeated in various permutations in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka not to mention other Nations of this region. It seems that all of these young democracies have not yet learnt to deal with Freedom very well.

Actually people all over the world love to fantacise a King or a Queen as head of the state.
This deep rooted fantasy will remein there for another couple of century untill and unless the conception of a single governing body for the entire planet prevails.

funny u should call Pakistan a hell hole, I think its still beter than India where 25% of the population sleeps in cement and Swere pipes? its still better than India where 45% of teh country has no government writ over it, compared to just the tribal belt ( less than 190 Square miles of territory) is free of government control. I still think its better than India where per capita owner ship of vehicles, computers and internet use is better than India? any dispute?

it is only 45% as you claim that Govt has no control.... in Pakinstam no goverment at all....

India earns its own ..... do not beg from USA.. and the infrastructure is more than sufficient...
