It is to be noted that the Destinies and also the fate of the political parties of the nations in South East Asia seem to be interlinked. In India Smt. Indira Gandhi became hugely unpopular and lost the popular mandate only to regain it and then become unpopular again. Just when she seemed to be on her way out of Government for a second time she was assasinated thus breathing new life into her party. Her children are now on the road to dynastic monoply of her party. Likewise in Pakistan Benazir Bhutto had been Prime Minister and became unpopular. She too was trying to revive her political fortunes and was assasinated resulting in her party winning a good number of seats. Her children are now set to take over her party. The same story can be found to be repeated in various permutations in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka not to mention other Nations of this region. It seems that all of these young democracies have not yet learnt to deal with Freedom very well.
