Such weeds bring Disgrace to India
by Ashish Malhotra on Mar 09, 2008 06:23 PM  Permalink

Such weeds bring Disgrace to India.India which boasts about their rich culture and respect for others gets a beating when we read such things hitting the front page of the Indain dailys.
Inspite of being an Indian, at times feels disgraceful and ashamed about this country.A country full of uneducated weeds who can see nothing beyond a females body.
In due respect to the female society, I urge that a strict disceplenary action is taken against they guys found guilty.Goa,a paradise for tourists should maintain its dignity.
Pheww...!God get some sense into these abnoxious citizens of the country.!!
Such people who r found guilty should be given a capital punisment in public, so that they very thought runs a horry reality in front of their eyes..
God pls bless my country..!!
Mercy!!!

It's a mix - a lot of outsiders too, but basically all INDIANS. And it all comes down to people values. To me an outsider is someone outside my country. Every other is an Indian just like you and me, and proud being one too. Secondly there is nothing called "GOANESE". People from Goa are called "Goans"

Goans Fleece Tourists
by JM NewDelhi on Mar 09, 2008 06:07 PM  Permalink

The recent death and cover up by police of Scarlett's rape & murder suggests that there is police nexus in all dealings and tourists are fleeced of their belongings, their virginity and their money too. It has already been confirmed that people have bought bungalows against the law and the Govt. wants to take action against them may be by taking away their rights of ownership. This is police collsion. Tourists, Indians & foreigners both come with money and they are at first encouraged to invest in Goa and then told that the policy framed by them was illegal. This is what happened with RP2011, SEZs and with a number of policies in the name of "interest of people". The Govts may come & go but the policies made statutory cannot be over turned like that. Taxi people, police and pubs & bar owners charge exorbitant rates from tourists. It has been going on for a number of years rather decades. This has prompted the policemen to have a cut in every dealing of whatever nature. In bigger issues, the policies are changed at the throw of a hat because it has favored another group of politicians. Watching this situation from the sidelines, other goans also find it opportune to bribe, take a cut and follow other corrupt practices. The result is that Goa is facing SUNSET in the land of plenty.

NANDU'S OPINION
by Nandu on Mar 09, 2008 06:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think at the end of the day at lot of us are missing the point.
If indeed this young girl was raped and murdered then it is a hideous unforgivable thing and no stone should be left unturned to catch the b*****ds that done it, irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the mothers actions.

The most basic and fundamental Human Right of all is The Right To Life. It is sad that a fifteen year old girl has been denied this right ........and especially in a tourist hotspot like Goa which has been portrayed over recent years as a safe tourist destination.

Leaving the rights and wrongs of parenthood aside....this 15 year old girl still deserves justice and dignity in death.
So India, please, No Cover Up...No Denial but show the world you really care.

Regards
Nandu

Congress cares for the muslims, not for these foreigners who don't vote anyway. Police care for those who will pay bribes in tens of lakhs, not for foreigners who are not used to paying bribes.

Along with the need to punish the accused for this hideous crime the Goa Government and Tourism Ministry should ensure that all tourists are provided appropriate information for ensuring their safety. It is necessary to inform parents to warn their children and to keep an eye on them. It is despicable that a fifteen year old girl allegedly used cocaine. What are all the other monstrosities that must be happening there? Don't hide facts. Bring them out.

What is the link between a young woman murdered and old British atrocities ?

You went to Canada per your choice, so now face what is good or bad, your own choice.
