Because of international pressure, the truth is slowly emerging out of the second round of investigations in Goa. Had it been a poor girl in Goa, the police would have have gotten away shielding the guilty. The Goa Govt should dole out exemplary punishment in this case to restore global confidence in our legal system. He should also take immediate steps to clear the beautiful beaches in Goa of the drug addicts & peddlers. The intellectuals in Goa should team up to make sure there is no easy miscarriage of justice in future as was likely in this case because tomorrow it could be their own daughters or sisters, who could be similar victims.

15 year old girl, drunk, left alone by her parents, partying till 4 in the morning. I realize a crime has ben committed, but I do feel that the parents have to share the responsibility. They too should face child endangerment charges. For all those commenting out of the US, UK, etc.. that is exactly what would have happened in those countries.

very well said.Parents are solely responsible. We are not a police state nor do we have a moral police like taleban. So if someone leaves her daughter alone in such situations and blames everything on the law and order, that is hypocritical. The mom too has to be charged.

Well said Devraj. I appreciate your balanced words, mainly "parents have to SHARE the responsibility". Unlike extremists like 'Desi dude' and 'Vipin Chaudhary'. One says, "Parents are SOLELY responsible", and the other "you are trying to support the crime". Sitting at extreme ends is easier; balance is what defines the wisdom.
goa will soon turn into columbia if the people are not careful. all the white "tourism" is not necessarily good. the indian embassies need to be very careful who they give visas to. any hippie can walkinto indian embassy and get a visa. besides, the drug lords are already well entrenched in goa. the hindus need to develop a balanced world view. show no mercy to druggies; you got to be very tough with druggies. a druggie is a desructive, regardless the color of his skin, he is no good to himself or the people around him.

this could happen anywhere, not just Goa. Forgot the poor maddie, who were left in the hotel room when her doctor parents had a night out on alocohol and the british press protected them. Such behaviour from the press actually protects the parents who are failing in their jobs
i think we can add some good form of punishments from shariya like stoning to death in public.If it is used for such henious crimes, may be the crime rate will drop down
