I bow to this great son of India and prey that his soul may rest in eternal peace. As a young lad of 18 years,I still recall the heady days of that month of December 1971.It was a dream time in the life of any youngester. After the shameful defeat of 1962 at the hands of the chinese, this adventure on the part of the Indian army was totally a surprise. And the architect of this victory was "Sam Bahadur" I still recollect the pic of one hoarding that had appeares in the Illustrated Weekly then, put up on the western front somewhere near Karachi. It went something like this " Now you are entering Pakistan.Remember that Indian women are the most beautiful in the world. If you still cant resist, hands in your pocket and think of Sam" What a man sir, what a man.

Moron. He is no street dog to get into fights immediately. he is a Army chief who has to think and plan before any exercise and that is what he did. Get out you loser. Dont you dare comment on this great personality.

dear. i dnt think der is any need to discuss why he is so great so jst shut ur mouth...
India will always be proud of this name. We'll always remember you with all fondness and gratitude. We are proud that we had a man like you with us. Rest in peace Field Marshal.
I will pray to god to continue to bless our nation with son;s of soil like him !!! We civilians do not recogonize their contributions in peace time !!!
What to say.. I heard his name first time. What he did for our country is not forgettable. But how many of us (young people) know this great man?? 2-5% of us?
I think if we can honor our Cricketers for winning 25 years ago then Its a shame that we don't even know about the person who protected our country lifelong.
I really feel that we should recommend a chapter (Sam Bhadur) in our primary education textbooks. So that, every young Indian know about him, if even 1 child from 100 schools from India get inspired by such a chapter we can get many such heroes. And India can be more powerful.
Can any one suggest how to appeal this to our education ministry? Cos our education ministry site is having a blank page with image and nothing more.... :(
