Hinduism is a fun religion
by Calspadeaspade on Jul 02, 2008 01:04 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We should keep it that way. Festivals are celebrated for joy. This is the time people mingle dance sing and feast. Most of our festivals have a great social and family binding motivation so that we bond with friends and relatives and people surrounding us.

Jagat ke Nath Jagannath...
by nagen samal on Jun 29, 2008 12:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Jai Jagannath... Splititing the name of lord u can know jagannath is lord of the world..history says jagannath is also worshiped by muslim "Salabega.." and responded directly to his prayers...Jagannath Rath Yatra is the visit of Lord to his devotees...Our Indian state Orissa is proud to be the land of Jagannath..

Its great feeling that Americans also recognise these strong concept of orissa people..but when is the rising time of our indian government..Orissa is the state providing Coal(we say black diamond)to all the power plants of the country.. provinding steel for building a stronger India.. providing alluminium for a tech India.. but is there any special package from Indian government for orissa??? no/.

Go andhra pradesh every village have railway stn and the stn are well constructed..its because of central government money...but in the same region orissa is always neglected...

Central government should think again...should give special packages for one of the important state of it..ORISSA...

we are celebrating the essence of Hinduism here i.e JOY
why get such irrelevant things which are nothing but baseless.... to create nothin but an ill will....
neways, Yes! Orissa had its share of problems and corruption is a major problem out thr but in a larger proportion.... Just that it's a matter of time that a improvement in technology would propel better governance and proper directing of funds...its frustrating but thats the challenge India is facing!!
Lets do something to stalk it out !!!

Hinduism the righteous way of life
by sdt on Jun 26, 2008 10:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Christ learnt all from India itself its actually Krishna Niti- the rightoues way to lead life which is now called Christianity & some people (pope, etc.) have made some amendments to it for their benefits but still its peaceful religion coz its roots r based on Lord krishna's message to the world. And by the way hinduism is a way of life and not a religion. Thats why people are not after converting people from other religions forcibly. It gives u choices to lead ur life & choice of worship to attain salvation.
Also Bhagvad Gita is not a hindu epic its a book which explains about dharma i.e. what a person must do in the various situations he faces in life and the answers to the many questions a common man (in this case Arjuna) asked. There is no where mentioned in it to follow Hinduism only or this particular god only to attain salvation. Its more about what is right and wrong for various situations that is described.

Lol. SDt ! I am proud of you. Good one. What we today call as Hinduism have gone thru metamorphosis and have embraced good ideas from different faiths and cultures. So Hindus stand tall because they are not just tolerant but have embraced good values from other cultures.

billions are skeletons of christians in earth waiting for jesus second coming to face judgement day to fly in sky to reach heaven.
how come all those bodies if not reduced to ash
now could fly since tombs are raised on top of
coffins.pity still christians believe this sort
of foolish ideas of merging with lord directly
from earth to heaven.for hindus, only souls are
taking rebirths immediately or later or going to
heaven or hell or to merge with supreme god in vaikundam depending upon its karmas and service
to the society and to god (only hinduism talk of services to society and god while other religions talk of service and faith on their god
for other religions services to society is only
for conversion purpose to put faith on ignorant
people)missionaries raise boogy every time year after year, second coming of jesus is in 2011 and later go on changing to every 2/3 years to fool people for conversion agenda.beware of missionaries and evengalists.

hinduism is great.no other religion have belief
of re-birth.becouse of re-birth,karmas are attached to our body.becouse of re-birth,
immortal soul comes in the picture.becouse of soul, final salvation comes to end merging with god. god is neither women or man or animal but
para brahmam-according to hinduism which is ever
pervading,omni-present,omni-potent,smallest to biggest. we worship in the form of human as god
as prescribed by vedas which came from day of creation of universe.vedas tells to worship god in different form formost is in the form of vishnu, who resides as antheryami in every heart,
which we call as paramathma.vedas were not written by someone like bible or quran.those
religions have no philosphy, no spiritual and hence can not explain inequality, inequity, social
disparities in births and disorder in world without theory of karmas,re-births,immortal athmas and final salvation to reach godhood.
westeners now realised the truth and hence follow vedic dharma,a way of life as prescribed
in sanatana dharma.

Indian rituals spreading abroad
by Sreevalsan on Jun 17, 2008 12:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is great to see Indian rituals spreading in other countries.
Another example is Kerala festival "Onam-- an yearly festival of Kerala denoting visit of Mahabali" celebrated in Gulf countries. Last year some gulf companies even gave holidays during Onam as majority of their employees are Indians, particularly Keralites. Recently "Vishu-- Kerala new year festival like yugadi" is also getting popularity in Gulf.
Interestingly Arabs are also showing great interest in these celebrations.

It is not rituals which are important. Devotion to supreme person is the most important.
