For the sake of nation, reservation policy should be abolished from research labs especially from DRDO and ISRO. Really talented persons are leaving these organisations because some dunce is suddenly promoted and is made their boss. The reserved quota persons are the main cause for the poor performance of these organizations.
Also from beginning, the DRDO has become a South Indian employment agency. If some body is really talented, he should be welcomed but the rubbish should be forced to retire.

Your knowledge of the subject is very poor. There is reservation in the South to the extent of 70% for the past 60 years which has enabled them to produce the largest number of highly qualified technicians. ISRO is full of South Indians. People leave because of poor salaries. Their service conditions must improve. Reservation causes no harm. It allows you to draw talent from a larger base.Give up your prejudice against the lower castes and think big.

"There is reservation in the South to the extent of 70% for the past 60 years which has enabled them to produce the largest number of highly qualified technicians."
Hundred percent wrong. The majority of the engineers and technicians produced in south India are not highly qualified at all. Since they get admission in the engineering colleges with the help of grace marks due to reservation, their IQ level is below normal. That is why their majority ends up getting menial jobs in GULF. ISRO is performing good not because of high concentration of South Indians but due to a small number of highly talented scientist who belong to every part of India. Reservation should be abolished and in the new system, only the best should be chosen.
Its very strange that a defective piece is our defence minister .................. Paralytic Patient is our President .........very strange politics of congress men from 60yrs
On the face of it, this sounds good. but then we have always been good in theory. If only we mean it. I wonder if Antony has conjured yet another money spinner scaam for himself and his party. it beats me, these guys (with high ranking army officials) gobble up millions of dollars in arms deals with other countries, why would they sabotage their own source of bribe? i dont want to sound cynical but i am dead sure that its not motivated by nations interest, just trying to see the catch. any idea guys???

I think the first missile should got Modi's ass and adwani's they are very strong for that
All our dirty politicians should be hanged as on one side they say give the best weapons. On the other side they force 50% reservation in this elite class. I really do't understand why scientific adviser and Chief controllers are not discussung this issue. They should publically come to speak on this issue.
As a matter of fact, functioning of almost all institutions under government should be reviewed in an objective and transparant manner. Besides corruption, there is huge wastage of public money.
TILL DATE WE ARE HAVING 40 INDIAN ORDNANCE FACTORIES AND OTHER DEFENCE ESTT LIKE DRDO, AND OTHER MAJOR DEFENCE PSU GIANTS , BUT TILL DATE WE ARE THE HIGHEST IMPORTER OF THE FOR OUR DEFENCE PROCUREMENT IN THE WORLD, WHY? IN MY OR ALL TAXPAYERS OPINION government GOVT SHOULD agree to accept in full the recommendations of the P Rama Rao Committee AND undertake a total revamp of the DRDO.NOT ONLY DRDO BUT GOVT SHOULD MAKE ALL 40 INDIAN ORD FACTORIES EITHER PUBLIC SECTOR ON THE LINE OF BSNL OR PUT SHAREHOLDING PATTERN BELOW 50% .
Though a few scientists have done a very good job in DRDo, overall, it is unsatisfactory and a money guzzling proposal to have it, let alone revamp it!

As an Ex DRDO Employee I would like to say :
1)empty tough talk by Mr Anthony, hope he didnot faint again while draining his toughness during this tough talk.
2)DRDO was , is and will continue to be a white elephant unless privatized.
3)Till date not a single piece of work by the DRDO has been used by the Indian Army.
4)The best thing to do in the times of financial crisis and inflation is to disband the DRDO, this itself would be enough to contain the food shortage.

It is because of idiots like you that DRDO is in such condition. Enough of your suggestions.

Hi Guk,
Ashwin Rath was more forthright since he was a permanent employee of DRDO. I have also been associated with DRDO for a brief while. If you have not worked inside DRDO, it is better to amend your comments suitably. DRDO is a real white elephant causing wasteful expenses worth tens of thousands of crores every year. The sooner they disband this organisation or at least prune it, the better it would be for this country.

>Till date not a single piece of work by the >DRDO has been used by the Indian Army.
is it because the quality of the work is deficient? or is it because the army top brass profits by foreign procurement?
